Recently won Don't Starve on account of being the only person to solve a puzzle possibly of the ilk you're complaining about, so my view is probably slightly different! :P I understand what you mean though. I myself can make some pretty daft puzzles but because of complaints like this I've taken to putting what game it is for so people don't have to waste their time.

At least mentioning what game you give away is a good start; nothing quite like looking through a dozen of puzzles for a dozen of games you already have.
Though if you look at some, there's so much room for the wording already. Like, "Why are you here" as a puzzle question!?

Yeah, the 'read my mind' puzzles are the worst. I just despair that itstoohard doesn't send a text document of all the answers given to the creator. Turn that silly little 'why are you here?' question into deep philosophical discussion and a potential existential crisis. Would be harsh, but fun.

Just doing puzzles to pass some time. If I got stuck I simply move on and continue watching cats video.

I like forum puzzles in general but the mind reading ones are my bane.

For the most part I enjoy them. I know I won't be able to solve most of them, but I have a lot of fun trying to "puzzle" them out. Har har For me it's more about the fun of solving, even if I'm not interested in the resulting game (or have it/don't have required CV).
I definitely do prefer puzzles that have a sense of logic to them. Not fond of mind readers, though sometimes I find ones I think are mind readers end up actually making a lot of sense when I figure out the right thing to search for or approach them from another perspective. Ran in to one such case today, in fact!

I'm with ya, OP. I can't stand those nonsensical puzzles. I much prefer a puzzle that anyone can find the answer to just given that they put in the little bit of effort googling or whatever to find the answers.
I've made one little quiz before with a lot of various themes to questions from tv shows and movies to historical facts or figures and phrased them in a way that if you knew the answer you would get it instantly, but gave enough information that if you pulled it from the question you could easily just google the answer.

I usually enjoy puzzles. I often try to solve them even if I don't know what game there is in the giveaway or if a certain CV is required.
Anyway if I find a puzzle too frustrating or not logic at all, I just skip it.
Thanks for the giveaways! Entered for borderlands.

It's like a huge disappointment for me when either I own the game and spent minutes of my precious time on solving things, or alternatively being given so ridiculous quests to solve on itstoohard.com where the answers make no obvious sense even to make even bothering a pain.
What's yer stance on puzzles?
