As already said before, you missed a lot of drama. The last one was about advertising curations in the forums, which is now strictly forbidden and only allowed in giveaway descriptions.
Our fellow Superfabs was permabanned while he tried to point out the squishy and partly unclear ruleset with his provoking behavior and actions. His "crowbar attempt" to change SG failed miserably, and I'm so deeply sad that he is gone for good. :(
But I'm also happy that old veterans occasionally return to SG. :) Welcome back, nitro!
I never lose my hope and one day Superfabs will be back.

Ah that's a tough request. I don't think there is a dedicated thread in the forums, but there are several debates in topics where SG users promoted their curations and SG-Staff members eventually stepped in to demand a removal of the curator plug. Only Steam groups are now allowed to be advertised in the forums. Requests to join curators are solely restricted to the giveaway descriptions now. Hence some of them curators became angry.
Especially Superfabs made quite a fuss about it, he could hardly accept this new direction and tried to point out contradictions in the ruleset.
He came up with a little "evil" blacklist event, that turned out to be a really enjoyable game. https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/89fHY/
Sadly he was too determined and obsessed in pushing a change on SG that he first was suspended temporarily and later on received a permaban.

I don't recall this event though, I've participated in a few of his.
Things tend to get overly heated on SG for some reason or another, even for the simplest of topics.
I tend to avoid to much comment of late... Just stick to running a few trains a year now and avoid trouble. :)

Yea, exactly. He is the quirky over the top guy. :D Though he has certainly a good heart and is one hell of a smart guy. It's so sad that he sacrificed himself over this nonsense. :(
You're right, staying out of the heated debates and dramas is probably the best thing you can do.. Just focus on the main purpose of SG. ;)

Well, maybe I'm wrong for shying away from these things, but I also don't want the added stress it can sometimes cause, despite the good nature of the cause at times. Too much IRL going on to add additional.
I'll spread my positivity through my train GAs.
BTW, there's one coming up for my cake day, so keep an eye out. I'll create a blue heart GA as well, so you're on my list for that now too. :)

Besides the drama fueled discussions, there are also plenty of positive, funny and sarcastic conversations going on and I really love SG for that. It's so much fun interacting with the community.

So the last two years have been interesting in terms of games with some cool games like PUBG, Fortnite, Horizon Zero Dawn, Injustice 2 releasing in 17 and God of War (ps4), Celeste, AC Odyssey etc in 18..
