Hey, would you pick another short game for me? I remember now why I never played Costume Quest - I can’t get it to run properly. First the controller rumbled every few seconds, then I switched to keyboard only for it to crash after a minute and now it instantly freezes when I start it ._. Reinstall and verify didn’t help and I couldn’t find a fix online. Thanks in advance! ^^

The longest the game, the more points you get.
May I get some more hard-coded stats on that? For example, how many hours equals one point? EDIT: What if we beat a game in less time than, say, the HLTB stats say its length should be? EDIT2: What if it takes us longer?

generally speaking
Short game: 2-8h
Mid game: 8-15h
Long game: +15h
Based on HTLB
if you beat a mid game in 6h (lucky you) it counts as a mid game but if you take 9h, lets say, 10h to finish a short game, it counts as a short game.
In general pickers know what they pick so there will be no evil choices.

Thanks, but I still don't know how those hours translate to points. For example, is a short game worth two points? What about mid and long games?

Points per category:
Short - 1p
Medium - 2p
Long - 4p
Very long - 7p

Just to add that there is a Very Long category that Georgeous forgot:
Short game: 2-8h
Mid game: 8-15h
Long game: 15-25h
Very Long: +25h
Even though some games are exceptions like a mid game being shorter or a short game being longer, we found that it's pretty accurate after a year of data.

I also have a question with the points.
Since 5 is the minimum to not create a giveaway, 2 medium games = 4 points. But you get +1 point for each game you complete, does that count towards the 5 required points or is it only added afterwards for the leaderboards? (So beating 2 medium games would equal 6 points / no giveaway required?)
Also for the bonus point it says "Points for completing a game: +1 per game" Does completing mean 100%ing or just beating main story?
Definitely more interested in the group now that it's quarterly, since beating Long games can be a bit much and don't like added stress to my gaming. :P But getting recs are always fun. Appreciate any clarification & best of luck with the group!

Yes. Completing games does count towards the 5p "requirement". Complete = 100% achievements unlocked, just like blaeo. Btw, playing games from blaeo's current theme also rewards 1p for each game. You just need to report before the end of the cycle.

I've seen a few mentions of this PoP thing in various blaeo updates but never has the guts to enter since it was a monthly thing and I could easily fail that to some urgent stuff at University/work. If I may add a couple of requests:
- Please don't ask me to play a game I marked "won't play" (it's only 10% of my games). I already tried these games and they are definitely not for me.
- Please don't ask me to play the 2nd/3rd part of a game I haven't played the 1st part yet. I have no problem with having to play several games of a series, or the 1st installment. But not 2nd installment without playing the first.

You can actually put that in your description so people know what you dont want. People try to stick to thw lists (if made) or just never played since no one is cruel enough to go for wont play games. For your next point though you are able to swap a game. I picked mafia 3 for someone seeing they did 2 but they apparently didnt play 1 so I simply swapped it over when they mentioned that

It's against the rules to pick games marked as "won't play". I also ask members to avoid picking sequels, when a person hasn't beaten the prequel. Anything else, you'll have a chance to detail your "custom rules"

Q: Do I have to play all 7 games every month?
A: **NO! Unless, you wanna try to reach the top of the leaderboard, there is no need to play all 7 of them. 2-3 games are more than enough to complete the "challenge" and avoid creating a giveaway!
Q: Do I have to participate every cycle?
A: No. You can take a break whenever you want, you just need to report to us before the next picking phase starts. There is a thread called "Skip a month", use it whenever you need!
Q: Why is BLAEO mandatory?
A: It makes picking a LOT easier. As you can see here and we use their themes for extra fun!
Q: Why do I need to have played at least 15% of my wins or a total of 40 wins beaten?
A: We must see that you're serious about playing your games, not just joining because of the giveaways.
