Include Paul?
Personally, I tend to trust these developers. When they release a game, there's a pretty high chance that it's going to be good :)
CD Projekt (Red)
We all know who they are.
Blue Wizard Digital
The studio behind the delightfuly over-the-top slideing puzzles Slayaway Camp and Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle.
Artifex Mundi
These guys are the masters of the HOG genre, in my opinion.
Codename Entertainment
Developers of quality F2P clickers/idle games, as quality as a clicker can get of course. If you're ever looking for a time waster that mostly plays itself but offers a lot of stuff to keep you engaged, I recommend Crusadres of the Lost Idols ;)
And a honorable mention:
Astronomic Games
Creators of great rather mature RPGMaker games.

Nice, yeah they strike me as fairly friendly. I have a good experience with their customer support, too :)

Agreed. They should pick the games they publish more carefully, some of them are really just average. Their own HOGs, on the other hand... :)

Digital Extremes kind of if you play Warframe. Some problems in the game can last for months or years while other issues are fixed within days or weeks. Nevertheless the devs are the most communicable people to their players for such a popular game. In some ways, you would be impressed how quick the devs respond to some situations and in other times their responses remind you of Valve and Valve Time™️.

Klei - The first one that came to mind as well.
Coffee Stain Studios
William Pugh (Crows Crows Crows)
Double Fine Productions
Edmund McMillen
Jackbox Games, Inc.
Also Nintendo, particularly for certain franchises like Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Mario Kart, Pokémon.

CD Project, Naughty Dog, Arkane, and Telltale.
I have to hand it to Telltale, I've really liked every recent game I've played by them. They've become one of the most dependable studios for me. I dismissed their Minecraft game because I have no interest in Minecraft, but I've even heard that that's good from someone who hates Minecraft.
And Arkane... just wow! Dishonored series, Prey - they've brought back immersive sims in a huge way and each game has been amazing. I just hope they get the sales they so deeply deserve.
As far as Publishers, I have to hand it to Square Enix. While not everything they've published was great, I've enjoyed everything I've played, and I'm honestly surprised at how many good series they have. Just Cause, Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Bravely Default, Nier: Automata, Deus Ex... they publish a ton of really good games. For how many titles they publish, they set the quality bar really high.
I'm most torn about Bethesda as a publisher. Their quality control is abysmal, but I hope they never stop funding epic single-player games.

My visual memory is better than the written one, so I often forget developers name, while recognize them easily from their previous games - so most names mentioned are kind of strangers for me :D It was already mentioned, but wanted to throw in Wadjet Eye Games, and I actually want to add two publishers to the list (from my perspective) as well - Devolver Digital and Adultswim Games. They both publish crazy, wtf kind of games along with more "normal" ones, but in general quality and creativity is what I would associate with both publishers, I think their games always worth checking out. (not necessarily buying, as how weird they can be :D )

Cannot recall a single one, all had at least one severely disappointing title (or too few games to really judge), whether they are AAA, casual, or indie devs. Elephant Games right now has some chance to get on this list, but I just recently started getting through some of their games.

Larian Studios - the Divinity Original Sin games were both amazing.
Wube Software - They've only made Factorio so far, but it's one of my favorite games and they post weekly development updates which I always have read for the past few years since I first found the game.

Do you have your favorite devs that never (or rarely) disappoint you with their releases? Which ones are the promise of a good game? For me it's Klei for sure. Zachtronics also seems to create quality stuff.
1) Klei
2) Zachtronics
3) CD Project Red
4) 11 bit
5) Introversion
6) Pixeljam
7) Supergiant Games
8) Subset Games
9) Playdead
10) Fullbright
11) Obsidian
