I just recently won a giveaway, and I'm fearing the creator of the giveaway isn't going to give me the gift. It's only been 2 days since the giveaway has ended, but I've tried sending him a friend request to thank him for the giveaway and he blocked communications. He has also been online many times since the giveaway, so it's not like he hasn't signed in for awhile. I'm not the most optimistic person, so I'm having little faith that I will actually receive my game. What should I do?

EDIT (Including my posts from below for those who don't like to scroll down):

"Yep, it's fake. I sent him a message (joined a group he was in and was able to send him a message) and when I asked him about it, he went offline. Awesome."

"Here's my encounter with him. The trade request was sent to see if he was online or just idle. Since he declined the request, it meant he was actually at his computer and had to decline it. http://i40.tinypic.com/2nlr4h3.png"

"Also, he didn't quit out of Steam, thus removing the possibility of a coincidence. I can tell because when somebody switches their status from Online to Offline by themselves, as in not quitting out of steam entirely, the "Last Online" area of their Steam Profile is incorrect. Instead of showing "1 minute" as it should have, it said something above an hour."

Lul, hey. He blocked me. Seems a bit odd that he would block the person who won his giveaway.

Chances are he didnt block you. Did you try to add him then unfriend him so you could add him again because Steam autoblocks you for doing that

I added him once and the friend request went away. After getting the "Could not invite friend" message, I went and added him through SteamRep and then got a message saying "(name) has ignored you".

to be honest I'd make you wait if yo harassed me for a game you won, esp if you didn't say thankyou. Wait a week.

6 days registered, 23 giveaways entered, 3 comments, game's not in his inventory... yeah, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's a fake. :( Sorry, man. I'll try adding them myself, see if they talk to me.

The one time I get lucky and there's a good chance it's a fake. How fun.

If it is a fake, then he'll be banned, if that's any consolation.

It's something at least. If he won't give the game then I don't want him having any chance of winning one in the future.

I would panic and start bothering one of the admins until I get satisfaction.

Don't worry: soon he will be banned and you shall have satisfaction. (Or, at least, semi-satisfaction since you were supposed to have won a free game.)

Since he blocked you on Ssteam just send Support a message. If he didn't want yo talk about the situation then he probably won't give the game away.

You won't get it, simple as that, I won a The Ship giveaway (2 copies), neither me or the other winner received it, and when he created it, the game was on his inventory. I guess he traded them away.

i have a silly question... you can see if you won in the moment when giveaway clock is ended, or you have to wait ?

Yes, if you won, both you and the giveaway creator can see that you won as soon as the giveaway ends.

Not sure why people make fake giveaways. Perhaps they feel some kind of "giveaway remorse", where they were all gung-ho about making a giveaway in the beginning, but then realize some time down the road they will have to give away the game for free. shrugs

That, or they're just messing around, or they don't know what they're doing.
