Just because you didn't get scammed by him doesn't mean he hasn't scammed other people. You sound like you know the guy personally.

well then get your trusted trader to honour the offer or return gift otherwise actions speak pretty darn loud

I suggest you to delete his name on this discussion and the links for him too.
Calling out is not allowed on sg, so you will get banned...

I believe that would be good to have a place to make scam alerts on steam trades or even sg. But fake accusations would be a problem.

warning others of a scammer.... seems fishy

It's just that public shaming is not allowed on this site, you will be suspended when a mod finds out (and usually they are not too slow).

Better delete their name.

and how else am i supposed to warn others, as said seems fishy

Literally the first line in the guidelines:

Use the appropriate avenues for support. If you have an issue with another user, submit a ticket with a user report, rather than calling them out within the community or on the forum.

Don't say you haven't been warned.

Being fake is not the thing. Calling out isn't allowed on sg, so is better to delete his name or you will get a ban.
I tried to warn you because to get scammed and get a ban too is quite horrible.

Should have checked on SteamRep and have taken the required measures as well. If an offer it's too good to be true, the must be a reason for it. Sorry to hear that, but be careful from now own.

thats not the point though

rules are rules, regardless of whether or not you agree with those

SG doesn't protect scammers. Calling out is forbidden, because the website owner can't check every accusation and therefore doesn't want to be used as platform for it. It's a common rule in many forums.

For your warning use SR and the feedback function on the platform your trade was based on.

you want to get the guy punished?

send a ticket to support, this is not how sg deals with scammers.

Naming & shaming.
Somebody could just start a topic for you...

Anyways "SR SCAMMER" - kinda old news, maybe write another topic on steamrep.com, or contact support here? Might be more useful.

Calling people out isn't allowed.
Take it through the appropriate channels.

i'm tired as hell 6:38am... appropriate channel is just to warn others, what else can i do other than flush the game down dunny and say well done that don't seem right

Yeah, but this isn't a trading site. SteamTrades exists. Steamrep exists.
That's how you do this. It's like instead of reporting a thief to the police, you just go to the streets and yell it out. This is just the inappropriate channel. Report him here, of course as well.
Plus... that suspension won't be too great.

reading the rules first would be appropriate too

I really appreciate for the warning, and i understand how angry u are.
BUT, as i read other comment, i don't think this thread is healthy, so you may get suspended.
just make this lesson to use "COMMON SENSE" and check "STEAMREP" if u need to go 1st
once again thank you, for the warning^^

his steamtrades page is full of negatives. include that in your search next time. im sure this guy popped out of thin air which is another warning, if they dont contact you through barter/steamtrades its mostly always some shaddy character. sadly making a post about it will only get you in trouble.

if you sent something through steam try contacting steam support, im not sure how they handle one way gifts though

steam support doesnt handle trade scam cases anymore to my best of knowledge

in the instance of "i sent him a key" then yeah your SOL, but if he sent a confirmed trade through steam he might have a bit more leverage, because thats in their records, keys from bundle sites, thats not their problem

"Steam Support does not restore items that have left accounts for any reason, including trades, market transactions, deletions, or gifting.

It is your responsibility to secure your Steam account. To quickly make trades or sales on the Market, your account must be protected by a Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator. This ensures that only you are able to remove items from your account. If you can’t enable an Authenticator, Steam will hold the trade or Market sell listing for a period of 15 days so that you’ll have enough time to discover and cancel pending transactions if your account was compromised."

Bruh, he had been banned from Steamrep for 52 days. Daaamn, didn't you know about Steamrep? Always check on Steamtrades and Steamrep for reputation. I learned that hard way as well.

Also, calling out here will get you suspended for a day or two.

people do not read... can't exactly do all that checking with mobile and usually says vac banned or such but all looked clean, i can bite the bullet but i'd rather give others a heads up so SUE me or ban me i don't care less money i put into giveaways the better :P

I'm sorry for the bad experience you had.

Warning others is ok, but not in this site through public naming and shaming, because it's a rule.

You can report through SG support and maybe he gets the permanent ban here.
Try reporting on Steam Rep, additional reports may serve as additional warning.

And Steam support most likely won't be able to help you, but you can try if you make a good case.
Attempt a refund. Blocking payment or charging back can get you into trouble with your Steam account too, don't do that.
