When you got alot of points, what'll you do?
Yeah, I am also a little bit scumbag so I hide games without cards. I also hide these ones, that I don't like or which reviews says that game just s*cks. So, I have only games with trading cards (can sell this and get an extra case in CSGO or something) and only these which I like, so even if game has cards, I don't want it if it's bad. You know, chances are still the same, doesn't matter what games you participate in. So also you can hide games that you have to throw many points, if you just wanna win, then participate in games that you have to ''pay'' 5P, 10P :) For example my biggest gift I won was just 3 Euro, and I had to send it back because there was a bug (that was DLC and I didn't have base game, I could participate because it was for free for everyone on 1 weekend)
Sorry for long message, but I hope that you learned something from me even as I am new. Good luck :)

No "enter giveaways of games with trading cards regardless of if i want it or not" option :(
Anyway my process is this:
-If I know the game do I like it and want it? If I don't know the game does it look interesting/cute in steamstore? If yes enter. If not then does it have trading cards and I have no other giveaway that interests me in the first few pages? If yes enter. Otherwise I just wait for something else to come.
i'm a card junkie ;_;

Umm....not sure you know this, but....
Won gifts should be activated to the Steam account used during registration, and they should not be regifted, traded, or sold.
From the FAQ guidelines.

It's ever-evolving. When I first got here I was spending all my points everyday on anything I didn't hate the look of. Now I sit on 300 points most of the time and have done for a few months. I don't often look at the giveaway page and only really enter giveaways in the groups I'm in. Gone from one extreme to the other over time.
If I enter a group giveaway it's because I want the game. Getting round to playing them is a different matter even though I had good intentions. Just quit a couple of the groups in part to feeling guilty about that kind of thing, although mainly 'cause the whole group thing was feeling a bit stale to me.

Honestly :
Games that i want to play them ( No matter that they have Trading card or not ) . wishlist games as example !
As second priority, i focus on Indie games that have TC . because i know myself and i know that i will not play unknown games without steam reward system ! ( Trading Card ) and yeah, sometimes i find out them as an enjoyable game .

if I know the game && I want it -> enter
else if I don't know the game && >80% positive users review on steam && seems worth the bandwidth -> enter
else skip

For me the priority is as follows:
I skip the rest.

I enter for games I'd want to play eventually. Not in any mood, not immeadiately - but only games that I'm truly intrested in. This is why I have low number of multiplayer FPS games (maybe none?) amongst my wins - I'm not that good in FPS and versus-multiplayer is a thing I don't really like.

If the game catches my eye, I check the Steam page and its reviews. If there is a lot of them with at least 90% positive (the ratio may vary) I enter. Otherwise I add the game to filter. (177 games filtered so far) So I'm basically just scrolling through the things I'm too lazy to filter. :)
The strategy seems to be pretty off though, 1200 entered since the new site and won... Just... 30 entries... Invite only... Bad Rats... *sigh*
I'm not complaining about the Bad Rats itself actually, since it costs 5€ in the EU2 region – because reasons – I was unable to buy it FOR THE LULZ myself.

I tend to buy a lot of games and bundles, so most of what i enter for is stuff that looks interesting, but that I'm not willing to pay full/sale/whatever price for. If i was willing to pay for it, I'd probably already have it. There's also some stuff that I've entered for while waiting for a better sale, but the large majority of it is just "I won't buy this, but I'd like to try this."
I suppose it's not as nice as only entering for games that I really actively want, but it also means that when a game does turn out to be a lot of fun, it's a very pleasant surprise. I never would have seen the glory of Just Cause 2's grappling hook if I hadn't won a copy, because I wasn't a fan of the first one and would never have paid money for #2, but I kept hearing that it was worth a play and so I kept entering for it.

I now enter games I would like to win only, a couple months ago I was entering games I might want to play, and that sins of a dark age that I was stubborn enough to enter

I only enter GA for games I know something about, I'm interested in playing and currently can't purchase. I have no interest in Postal 2 (random example taken from soon-to-end GA) but someone else might, why would I want to contest his chance to get it? I don't even enter most of the mass GA (5-10 thousand copies) if I'm not going to play the game.
I'm actually not entering a lot of GA these days, maybe a handful a week. I managed to get most of the games I cared about and I have time to play.

1,603 filtered games on my list, and I still filter games every day.
Every time I see a game that don't know I check the game on the Steam Store. First, the community rating, next the most voted reviews and, lately, the gameplay video and images. If I don't like something that will make me regret winning it, it goes to the filter.
(Sorry for my english)

Please answer truthfully, I really want to know how much enter giveaways that they do not require, and why...
