Free Weekends

at least for people who don't even install games on free weekends like me for example
haven't played any game on free weekends, but every time those games somehow manage to get on my games' list :(

Try this. On Wednesday, force your SteamGifts account to sync with your Steam account. After you force sync, never force a sync again unless you really need to, this will ensure that the automatic sync happens on a Wednesday (obviously there will never be a free weekend going on during a Wednesday), so SteamGifts will never sync your account when you have a free weekend game in your library.

Asked a mod if the automatic resync happens 7 days from the last sync (whether forced or automatic) and the answer was yes, so the above method should prevent free weekends from causing you problems

I do not think they should auto place game in our library. I never download free weekend trials. My download bandwidth is so small that by the time I downloaded the weekend would be over. lol

I just didn't resynced and can enter the giveaways

This is not steamgifts fault. This is steam libraries sync fault. Basically steam puts accross the image when the game is installed that the person owns the game and it stays that way for a couple of weeks. Nothing steamgifts can do about it.

Its valves fault

I've never had this problem of free weekends screwing with my SGifts. :p dunno why though, but it's good.

It is possible for SteamGifts to do this with some behind the scenes work.

Before a free weekend, force a sync and query all users. Create a list of those who own the game in order to keep them ineligible and remove restrictions for all other users.

This doesn't sound too hard, but requires someone to dedicate almost every Thursday night to ensure this "feature" is available. If they missed one weekend, you can guarantee there'd be a riot on the forums. People are already raging about it and don't even understand who is at fault.

It is not valve's job to maintain this site, the admin of this site should have take 10mins to make the free weekend game an exception list so people can enter.
