CAPCOM Super Turbo HD REMIX (re)Bundle

From Lost Planets to Raccoon City. Last autumn, we had our first Capcom bundle, and now we're bringing it back! Of course, it wouldn't be a Super Turbo HD Remix without a few changes, so a few games have left and a few new ones have joined, and we're even featuring a new charity. Get in on the festivities, though, because who knows if it'll be re-remixed!

More about this bundle's Region locking:

Reports of Region locking for buyers in: Germany and RU/CIS regions.

  • You will get a message saying "This game is not available in your region" and will NOT receive a key for that game if you purchase the button. (You won't get a low-violence version either as a substitute. Instead, apparently you will get NO key. See comment here)
    • UPDATE: You will no longer receive this message if you buy the bundle. But I still believe you get region-locked keys ? See confirmation here

For All OTHER regions:

  • if you live in any OTHER region besides the regions listed above, you should get universal keys and are NOT affected by region-locks.
  • However, more people still need to confirm whether or not they get region-locked keys. (Asia, Croatia, etc.)

If you don't have any, this bundle's good.

But looks like this won't be popular as majority of users here probably have bought the previous bundle.

Are the Resident Evil Games worth a play? I don't know if a keep'em or trade them. Never played Resident Evil when i was younger or watched any films of the franchise.
What do you think they'll add to BTA tier? Street Fighter ?

the older Resident Evil's were amazing, but the older ones aren't really available on steam. The second and third game were great, then Capcom decided to fix something that wasn't broken and turned the game in a new direction. The new direction wasn't very good. Although they are still worth ah play I suppose.

talking about the games in the bundle, Resident Evil 4 is the best of them, all others after RE4 are good/decent stuff, has some old gameplay and graphics though and you will see the inventory screen a lot compared to all others, but still a blast to play, best gore of the series, all next entries got more censored...

Resident Evil Revelations or Resident Evil 5, if gets in the bundle next week, are good options to play next, those play quite similar to RE4.
Revelations is a port of a 3DS game, the difference will be noticeable, but still good.

Revelations 2 has the most refined gameplay, but overall was decent and had some annoying sections
Resident Evil 6 got an overdose of action unfit for the series, many annoying sections and QTAs...last game you should try

i'm in the US and you should have ROW keys, which anybody can use. I think the only restrictions are for those in germany who get uncut (low violence) versions, so you would have problems there. This time around, it seems if you live in Germany, you won't even get a key for the game.

basically it's tied to the region the purchaser buys their games from.

Here's a Reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/2pjdwm/psa_all_games_are_getting_region_locked/

Steam uses the same tactics, and some publishers only allow buyers from certain regions to purchase things. For example, the SEGA bundle has a region lock for the regions i listed and can only be activated for their particular region. Everyone else is given non-region locked keys that are universal.

Other publishers like Deep Silver, NAMCO/BANDAI, and Rockstar put region locks on their game.

From wiki

A regional lockout (or region coding) is a class of digital restrictions management preventing the use of a certain product or service, such as multimedia or a hardware device, outside of a certain region or territory. A regional lockout may be enforced through physical means, through technological means such as detecting the user's IP address or using an identifying code, or through unintentional means introduced by devices only supporting certain regional technologies (such as video formats, i.e. NTSC and PAL).
A regional lockout may be enforced for several reasons, such as to stagger the release of a certain product, to hinder grey market imports by enforcing price discrimination, or to prevent users from accessing certain content in their territory because of legal reasons (either due to censorship laws, or because a distributor does not have the rights to certain intellectual property outside of their specified region).

I was confused about this at first too when i first started doing threads.

Judging on previous Capcom bundle (the original first one with similar games), there must be a region lock for RU/CIS for all games as well. Plus the Resident Evil 6 is excluded from bundle contents there.

All games are Region locking or just the game with Low Violence Version in german?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Someone said that for buyers with region locks, you won't even SEE the game. You will get a message saying "Not available in your region" and will not receive a key for that game if you buy the bundle. They don't offer low-violence versions this time around for German/RU/CIS buyers.

Only Germany/ RU/CIS region buyers are affected afaik... maybe more regions are affected idk. If you don't live in those regions, i think you are safe because you will get universal keys.

I wanted to buy this bundle to do some gibs and don't have any experience with region locks, so what does it mean?
If I buy tier 1 of this bundle and create giveaways, are only Germans able to activate the keys?
The way I see it, it isn't even possible to select a region restriction for Germany on SG.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Not sure about that... i believe you live in a region which is not affected by this. So far, only German and RU/CIS (Russian region) buyers have had region restricting problems. so i think you are safe because you will get universal keys. But hopefully someone can confirm who lives in the same region as you.

I won a giveaway of a Strider from this HB.
When I tried active the key I got the same error message like the people saying about the game is not avaliable in your contry.

I live in Brazil (South America), the owner of giveaway live in Russia.

The owner of giveaway used another account for pay for a second humble bundle games. This time, he send me the humble bundle gift link (not the key like before) and the error message is the same.

Now he is trying contact with HB support.

hope everything works out, and yeah, i believe it's because he comes from a RU/CIS region and you are in a different region, and as many other people have said, RU/CIS region keys are region-locked, so they can ONLY be activated within RU/CIS countries. Brazil isn't one of them :/ sorry to hear that. thanks for reporting

Have anyone tried to buy more than one bundle? I bought one bundle, and when trying to buy a second one I get a "too many attempts" error, even if I mark it as gift.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You have to use different payment methods, and you can't buy too many in one day or else humble flags you. So use credit card for one purchase, PayPal for another purchase, etc. This is how I get through the system and avoid the too many attempts error.

Alternatively, stagger your purchases. Buy two today, but two tomorrow, etc

Thanks for answering Rachel. I've waited more than 24 hours since my last failed attempt, and it failed again. And since I prefer to use Paypal only, I think I'll stay just with one bought bundle, and as it was for a friend who wanted ROW keys, nothing for me.

Hmmm I'm curious maybe one of you here happens to know, if I get that "low violence" version
when activating RE4 on a German Steam account with a ROW key bought outside Germany?
I just won it in giveaway (Yay!), it activated just nicely, license page in my account just
says "Resident Evil 4 WW Digital Distribution". Nothing about low violence. Is there any chance
I might have gotten the uncut version? :-)

Oh and also thank you very much Rachel, for collecting all this bundle infos for us :-)

So if I get the 1$ tier and try the key, what would happen?

It will probably just add the DLC to your account. Not 100% sure but that's usually how these things work.

Permalink

Because it does make sense buying it if that's the case. Probably won't get the Dlcs on their own for so cheap anyway right?

Permalink

I doubt it. Especially if you would definitely like to get them all. It all seems to be multiplayer dlc so I am not sure how active the game is but I imagine if you would like try it out with others now would be the best time while many others are buying it.
