so i wonder if you guys tried to reserve you points too by entering
a giveaway

so i done it (mostly as a test ) because maximum points is 300
so i entered many giveaways that had a week remaining
then i waited untill i got 300 points again

i used those 300 points
then i left those giveaways i was in and wohlaa
300 more points

or is that abusing the point system ?
cause in one way you get more then the 300 points ?

I take it it's common way to get around the point limit but I've never actually been that strapped for points

but still if you can bypass the point limit that easy
then whats the purpose for the point limit

one thing that would be nice if they made a cooldown when you leave too many giveaways that way
it should be harder to bypass the limit ?
correct me if im wrong

I guess something could be done but there's also a lot of complaints every time someone suggests a change. People are generally happy with status quo it would seem. I wouldn't mind if we didn't get any points back when leaving giveaways but I can imagine people who enter a lot of giveaways having a big problem with a change like that.

Not something I would do myself, but I imagine there are people who do.

When the point counter is almost always at 300, there's really no need to.

Of late, the "almost" can be removed. Even before the massive CV-minded flood of the recent Bundlestars bundle, there've been enough junky bundles of late that, along with the notable boost to point generation that reintroducing free games seems to have added, you're often able to go from straight from 0 to 300 every 15 minutes. By this point, it feels like point generation would benefit from a major revamp- after all, they're not really offering anything at the moment that removing them entirely wouldn't also fairly closely offer, and that with less site load.

It doesn't make sense that you abuse the point system, because you could've entered other giveaways that expired in that time, or you could enter a lot of giveaways that end in a week entering maybe 500 giveaways that way. There isn't any way to gain more points doing something like this, so it's not an exploit. Your chances to win or lose are the same.

well what i meant was like use the giveaways as a bank untill you find the give aways you really want to enter
that way u have more points to spend in a way

I am doing it. Points started generating like crazy 2-3 days ago, don't know why. It was needed less than 2 hours for full 300p.

don't know why

Humble Monthly + Dollar Jumbo Bundle (specially the second).

Probably the second, it never generates at that rate for monthlies. Only other time I could remember is Clickteam Fusion bundle, full 300p in an hour or so.

Yes, that's true, but I include all those Tomb Raider 60P GAs of the October Monthly too :)

That's because of the Dollar Jumbo Bundle of Bundlestars. People are leveling with it.

I wouldn't say it's abusing the point system, because you're not really gaining new points, so it's fine. But it's not something I personally do, mostly because I only enter stuff in my wishlist, so my points are always sitting on 300 (my wishlist is very picky).

well if you wait for the game you want only
then you will have 300

but if you use giveaways as a bank to reserve your points

then you would be able to have 600 points when the games you want is available
and that way you get more points to spend sort of

I know how it works, I was just saying I don't personally use it because I always have 300 points and I never need more than that, because I only enter wishlist giveaways and those are very rare for me.

I used to do it, though not consciously. Mostly when there's a must-enter ga and I'm out of points, then I'd browse through my entered list and drop out of some giveaways until i Ihave enough ponts. But that was before, when I used to enter giveaways like crazy. Today I just browse through my wishlist and groups (also, recently I managed to get lvl 7 so I spent some time looking for lvl7+, just to feel the taste of it lol)

i find it quite lame to bank points and "manage" them, i rarely ran out of points but to each its own i guess.
if i had lots of games i wanted to play idle i suppose i would also do it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(quite lame )
yeah you right it is quite lame
and it feels somehow that there is no purpose with the point limit
if you can bypass it that easy
