To be honest, I do the same. Although I'm not a youtuber. I have a Turtle Beach Px24 which I use for gaming and I've never used the mic.

well the good thing about headphones is you get really good quality for little money.

having an headset avoid people getting killed by the sound of my keyboard wich is resonating trrough the table to the mic each time i am using it. So when playing id rather prefer using headset, and if just talking for a video (wich i don't do because i don't think that would interest anyone) i would use an other mic
