Is this the Destroyer of your monthly gaming budget, or just an Afterimage of some decent games?
If returnal is real, keys will exhausted in 4 or 5 days

The entire subscription is a steal, I don't really get the whole coupon drama. Each and every month a large portion of subscribers complain about the included content and wait for coupons. Even if the leaked lineup is accurate, we will still have people complaining and waiting for coupons just like before.
Comment has been collapsed.
I agree with you.
I come here to see leaks but it's a little irritating seeing everyone whine about "skipping" and how "awful" line ups usually are.
For the price you pay, you can never complain.

I disagree. While it's impossible to make everyone happy and people will always complain, sometimes for silly reasons, money can have different perceived value depending on each one's subjective evaluation and how easy it was to get it. Therefore, I find it beneficial and constructive to have people voice their concerns no matter how they might appear at first sight. After all, value is in the eye of the beholder.

Maybe people shouldn't focus on acquiring video game licenses if they cannot afford it, especially taking into consideration the bundle context, where prices are already significantly reduced.

Maybe people shouldn't focus on acquiring video game licenses if they cannot afford it
If I like the bundle and I can afford it, that doesn't mean I should point fingers towards someone who waits for a price drop to enjoy the same games. Also if I like the current games that doesn't mean everyone is supposed the cater to my preferences and simply shut up instead of voicing their concerns. See? It's so simple to grasp the full picture.
I'll give you my example. I consider the bundle worth it for Nioh 2 alone. Should everyone believe the same? Obviously not. Also I might not justify paying full price when the bundle doesn't necessarily interest me, but I might consider getting it for a discounted price to add its games to my collection. Notice the difference? It's all subjective, but not right or wrong either way.

people shouldn't focus on acquiring video game licenses if they cannot afford it,
What kind of fucked up logic is that? AKA "go be poor somewhere else" ?
I dont care for Nioh2 for example. This bundle holds no value for me at its base price. Sure - I wont argue with you about how redicilous it is to constantly shit on bundle quality, but I am free to wait for a discount if I am not that interested in the games.. and especially the headliners. So stop this condescending BS towards others.
Comment has been collapsed.
"Go be poor somewhere else"? I never said that, these are your words, you basically got triggered by your own interpretation, because why bother to understand, if you have your own narrative.
Comment has been collapsed.
Because that was pretty much the vibe you were giving off. How else do you expect people to interpret you saying that people who cant afford should not even focus on acquiring games?
Humble and in general bundles are a perfect way to reach more masses with your games (and give the chance for those who cant afford full fledged 60EUR AAA games on release to get them at affordable prices). But hey, people wanting a discount on something is suddenly bad because those who cant afford should just fuck right off anyway? Literally nothing to do with people not seeing the value in the games.
I might want one or two games from the bundle and even if I can afford it, I dont see a single reason of buying the game or bundle just because "it objectively is good value". So how exactly should your remark about people not being able to afford games be interpreted?
Comment has been collapsed.
Bundles are pretty much the cheapest way of buying games these days. Now let's say a bundle is launched and you might afford to buy it or not. This isn't influenced by how many titles you are interested in, just the bundle price. Sure, a coupon might come along that reduces the price, making it more affordable, but not by much.
Let's say that you can afford to pay the initial price, but not willing to buy it, because there aren't enough titles you are interested in for the asked price. The coupon might change your mind, yet affordability was never the issue here.
Now let's say you can't afford the bundle at the initial price and a coupon just might make it affordable. Here's where my comment comes in. Given the low bundle price, if a couple of dollars moves an unaffordable bundle into affordable territory, then in my opinion you might be struggling financially to the point of not being able to cover basic needs, like food for example. And spending money on acquiring game licenses might not be a good way to improve your situation. Of course you might also be in a situation where you have a limited amount of money per month you want to spend on games and you need to be cautious of which bundle(s) to get. There is affordability here to a certain extent and it's probably frustrating when you are close to depleting your funds, then again when you reach that point maybe you should simply stop until you get more funds for this.
Now regarding your other point. Let's say you want a game, you can't afford it, the price is too high for you, so you wait for a discount. The game ends up in a bundle at a significantly reduced price. Let's say the bundle includes other titles you are interested it, long story short getting that bundle helps you buy this particular 60 EUR game for like let's say 3 EUR. And you complain about coupons not being available, despite the fact this title is practically 95% off. How much more of a discount you'd what for it? Yes, you might not afford to buy the bundle, but the applied discount is already way below common sense, expecting it to go even lower is simply ridiculous at this point. Not to mention that for a title to rise above the others in this day and age needs to be a quality title, for which developers worked hard, investing their talent and time to create. And that comes with a price. Studios cannot maintain a certain level of quality or even keeping the doors open, if the returns for their games is below investment. And people here discuss on how the correct price for this should be let's say 2.75 instead of 3. How did we end up here?

Wow, so......they figured out our system and trolled us? That's honestly impressive, I'm not even mad
Comment has been collapsed.
i find this problematic since this "experiment" seems to hurt the developers of this particular bundle. there are lots of comments everywhere (here, reddit, etc.) explaining they are skipping because some sort of "turn off" feeling after build up some high expectations. i mean, they didn't had to go that far to achieve this goal. a simple exchange of some titles for "equivalent" others would be more than enough... however, they wanted to go further, for some reason, at any cost. they may have achieved their goal, however, developers involved in this bundle are the only one who paid for this, unless there's some kind of mark up guarantee in their contract.

Leaks were statistically accurate but they were leaks after all. Humble was always subject to made changes and they did. Now they completely killed it. If people mad get over the leaks they are the problem. It might indirectly hurt them but I still think it would be an overexeggeration.
Hype is the killer of men.
Comment has been collapsed.
Exactly my point. This whole April Fools joke hurt Humble more than the customers because I've never seen such a large number of people saying they will buy or not skip this month for Returnal or Noita and since none of them came to fruition the same wave backed off from purchasing the Choice. It just hurt their sales. So I don't understand what was the point when leakers just wanna help build up hype and encourage people to look forward to the next Choice.
Comment has been collapsed.
Exactly. I don't buy the whole "oh it wasn't a bad April's Fools joke, it was HB being sleuths and trying to figure out where the leaks came from". It's BS because if that's what it was, they could have just leaked any random bundle. They didn't need to make it the super bundle of everyone's dreams that would never happen.
They hurt themselves by trying to be funny. Corporate April's Fools Jokes are a bad idea that always come back to bite them in the end.
Comment has been collapsed.
Leakers aren't the enemy of Humble Bundle anyway. They are trying to earn people to not buy elsewhere and buy through Humble. Therefore making them money. I don't know how can it be viewed other way. Leaks also build hype and curiosity and a lot of interesting discussions. Sometimes we earn that the bundle is worth it because of a game you might have not heard about or because so many people recommend it.
Comment has been collapsed.
Agreed. It could have been a problem if people paid in advance and got the "surprise" of what was in the bundle but they're not.
I have always thought these leaks were controlled leaks to hype the bundle. I have no evidence they are a problem for HB
Comment has been collapsed.
I mean, if you think about it, people that will complain and don't wanna buy it will never buy it even if they are offered a leak or not. It helps those that are about to buy somewhere else a game and suddenly they find out it's part of a bundle. That helps them hold back and get it when the Choice is out.
Comment has been collapsed.
If people get mad over something that they technically shouldn't have known about which, then turns out different than what they've expected based on leaked information by some random person on the internet, then it's a 'them' problem and has nothing to do with HB. If they get so upset over something like this, I'd say, they shouldn't look at leaks and wait until the bundle is officially released. They'll know the lineup and can't get worked up over possible fake leaks and not getting what they wanted/expected, however, they'll probably still complain about how the games suck and question who's going to buy that kind of "crap". There's just no way to win with some people.

Me, with coupon hopefully, 3 games wishlisted :)
The headliners aren't that special, I agree.
