It looks like WinAuth is working but I don't really understand how to import the SDA authenticator.

P.S. If you want to use Windows XP, just do yourself a favour and install Linux. I know you can't at the moment, but Windows XP is full of security holes by now and long time unsupported. Even Linux with Windows XP as virtual machine is more safe than this.
Also moving authenticator is only possible with official Steam app. If it's not available in Windows store for your phone then you can't move it. Solution above is general solution of desktop authenticator for Windows XP - on phone you should just use official Steam app.

Nonsense.

I know I should install Linux but it's a different story.
WinAuth seems to run but I don't know how to import the SDA. I choose "Import..." but I don't know what I should import.
EDIT: done, "import SDA" tab appeared.

What about confirmations? It asks me to log in but gives and error >.>

If you have a smart phone, why not just download the Steam authenticator app onto your phone and run it from there? It uses the same cloud as your PC, so you don't have to "import" anything. Also, most phones have identity protection. If you haven't been using TouchID (fingerprint access) or something similar, you should turn that on. Anyone picking up your phone shouldn't be able to access anything inside of it.

Because before adding an authenticator on the phone I need to remove the SDA first, which I do not want to.

Ahah :D
Sì è una bella seccatura. Maledetti portatili.

Hi all, I have this problem:
I use Steam Desktop Authenticator on my pc to log into Steam. I used it on my Win7 laptop too when I wasn't home. I never wanted to install the authenticator on my phone because of possible theft.
Recently my laptop died and I'm using my very old laptop, which can only run WinXP. Problem is, I found out that my Steam Desktop Authenticator doesn't work on XP for unknown reasons. I can't even run Linux on this laptop because USB ports don't work and I use a CardBus thing to add ports, however these don't work during boot. And I don't have a cd to burn here at the moment.
Now I would like to import the authenticator into an authentication app on my phone (or another one that works on XP), but I don't know if any app allows that and how. I own a Nokia Lumia 830 (Windows Phone). I don't want to remove and add the authenticator again. Does anybody know of something?
Thanks in advance.
