I'm having the problem from time to time (NB: yes I know my profile is friends-only, but of course I do set it to public when I sync ;) ), but usually if I just wait for a few hours (sometimes even just a few minutes) it works eventually.

Happening to me right now. I just got off a game and decided sync my SG account, but now the same "turn profile to public" is popping up. My profile has been public even before and after this Sync issue came up. Been trying to fix it for a few tries now... Reverted my steam to private > then public > private > public gain to see if something changes. Nothing, still won't sync.
I wonder if it's because I won my first giveaway today? Maybe Steam for some reason is still processing that, etc.? I don't even know if that's a thing. Hopefully tomorrow or after sometime, the sync issue is gone.

Mine's been randomly coming and going for a week now. So frustrating.

Yep, out of nowhere, when I go to sync today, SG gives me an error message asking me to switch my Steam profile to public. Of course, my Steam profile IS public, and has been for years. Yes, I went to my profile and double-checked to ensure that nothing accidentally changed. It's still public.
So is anyone else experiencing this? What in the world could be causing it?
