Prejudice is bad :)
edit: But it gave me an idea. As i know my internet connection uses dynamic IP. If i will turn my router off and on again... maaaybe. Anyways.

remember that if your provider gives you dynamic IP it will still be from range anyways. for example it will shift through 78.5.120.(100, 101, 102...). If you get IP blocked admin will usually put range IP block just in case (I know I did when I was managing my own website ;p)

So you effectively blocked anyone who used that same provider? ;)

same provider? nope. same exit node? probably yes, but the thing is that depending on certain community chance of someone using same node is from very small to non-existant.
Imagine case of WGN: Your standard node will have anywhere from 20 to 50 exits. What is an actual chance that in the same node you're on not only there is another person among these 20-50 ppl that is a gamer? Pretty high - according to these studies clicky 58% of US population play any kind of Video Games. It will probably be lower in less wealthy cpountries, but I'll take this 58% for now. It means that out of your 50 Exit nodesa on average 29 will be accessed by "gamers". But what's probability That this person is an active Steam user? Lower but still high - excluding casuals playing their angry-birds and Farmvilles 65% of "gamers" play some sort of normal game. 63% play on their PC. It means that in total we can assume that 41% of gamers are PC gamers. So 29*41%=12. 12/50 of your exit nodes will statistically belong to PC gamers. And as there are no hard data on Steam Users % in this studies uses Steam I say we may assume that most of PC gamers will at least be aware of steam existence so let's say it's 75%. It means that on average 9/50 of exit nodes may be Steam Gamers.
But waht's the chance that this person is not using steam just to play, but is also aware community member and part of GiveAway communities? Well this is already pretty small. At Jan Steam had 75mil registered users. Now it may be 80-85mil. And what number of users biggest GA community has? SG has less than 650k registered users, meaning that less than 0.8% of Steam users even tried to register = are even aware of GA communities. That means that 0.072/50 exit nodes will be used by someone aware of GA communities. Now remember that WGN is even smaller community. When the group got closed they had what? 60k users? So now maybe they have up to 100k if we look on it in an optimistic way. So even if you will have steam gamers on your node there is only like ~0.1% chance of them being even aware of WGN existence. 0,009/50 exit nodes will belong to someone knowing about WGN. Now not to mention the fact that not every user will cheat. Actually only minority will usually try to cheat. What will it give us? 0,00009/50 if we assume that 1 in 100 members will try to cheat and get caught. It basically means that there is 0,00018% chance that if an admin bans WGN member banning his whole exit node range it will affect other user. In 100k users community it gives average 0.18 of users affected through whole community. 1/5 of a user. So in wordst case scenario 1 person will get wrongfully banned to prevent any cheater of repeating his attempts on his dynamic IP. And this one single person cas be easily dealt with personally - just whiteliist this one case and continue blocking all other fckers ;p

I can't reach Who's Gaming Now's website. Did you ever read my OP? :D
But i might reach that site using tunnel again. Anyway... i don't care anymore. I'm grateful for Jet Gunner giveaway.

Read the title and thought I'd find something like "WGN/Carl went pay-2-win" text, but hey I was wrong!
Their site didn't withstand the hammering after all those mindless bots and ninjas went after orbitalgear steam key.
What bothers me the most is that all the keys they provide, freely (or not) are for PERSONAL USE only, and must not be regifted or resell or whatever, nevertheless, you see countless of them on the most frequented giveaway sites. Yep! Guess some ppl doesn't play by the rules!

i can assure you it got even worse with all those people posting referral links behind link shorteners despite our multiple request for not doing that beside the usual scumbags abusing the promos and then they come crying about how unfair the system is..you dont want to know how many people I had to ban from the forums because they kept breaking the rules multiple times

Lately their site instead of giving keys to all voters of some Greenlight games, now it gives just 100-200 copies instead, but thousands of ppl vote and only a small amount get the game, which is incredibly unfair, and more and more developers do it same way, they like to get thousands of votes but they don't like to give the game for free to voters, now "vote and get it for free" system becomes greedy.
Yeah and all those referrals links everywhere, and ppl not using code for themselves, etc, site just became bad.

Just don't vote then. It's not like every game you vote for owes you a free key.
But I agree with you that the original concept of the site is getting more and more diluted and it's on its way to become just one more of those annoying streaming sites that have been popping up lately.

im actually quite curious where the hell people get the idea that if you vote on a game on a greenlight it means that you will get a free key for it

erm, allow me to correct you on it since Im actually in touch with CarlMundo in person and thus Ive been on wgn for a time so yeah: everybody gets their steam key if they reserved it, I know this for a fact since Im helping out at the site as a moderator and because I participed at many of these promos and I always got my key in order. If for whatever reason this wouldnt be the case, all you need to do is contact wgn support and they will help you out. If only people would be bothered to read the FAQ instead of constantly asking the same thing that we answered like a bazillion times, maybe it would be so much easier for everybody . Wanna know why some giveaways have limited number of keys? these are always but i repeat ALWAYS devs/publishers decisions, WGN has nothing to do it with it.
No need to make up stupid conspiracies about how the key reseving system works.I mean sure there was some time when the number of keys were limited but im pretty sure convinced were informed about it if it was the case. For promo key abuses, theres the many times quoted scumbag steve badge and the fact that these persons are (to my best knowledge) banned from futur giveaways knocks on wood
Also what comes about gl promos OUTSIDE of WGN: We made it many times abundantly clear that these are up to the discretion of devs who organised it to inform the participants about the whereabouts and the conditions of their promo, its almost ridiculous the number of people who contact the support to claim keys that were not distributed as part of a wgn promo. I mean some people just cannot fuckin read for pete sake
Also we constantly moderate out referral links the best we can but I think you can understand that neither me or Shoppa can be there always all the time to remove dodgy content. The number of spam posts is however unfortunatly expected, theres not much we can do about it currently other than banning said accounts and trying to make sure that people keep the rules
Nex time please use common sense before crying foul because your statements about the site is quite far far away from the truth

Please tell me in what way I was harassing anybody? I just corrected the poster, in no way I was being rude or impolite
Geese, gotta love it when people are throwing in random nonsenses without even reading half of my comment >__<

He meant the fact that most recent promos are for a limited number of keys, like these. Whether it's the dev's decision, it's still what we get offered.
And also, I know for a fact that NOT EVERYBODY GETS THEIR KEY IF THEY RESERVED IT. I'm up to 4 games that I did reserve correctly and didn't receive. After 3 months of sending emails about them I finally got a bogus answer yesterday about multiple entries from my network being the cause. Guess what, no one else but me accesses WGN from my home so it's technically impossible to have multiple reservations from there. So either the system is deeply flawed and it stores bad information, or Carlmundo is just screwing up anyone who didn't get their original key from the initial batch. Seeing the number of people complaining about the exact same thing, I know I'm not alone in this situation.
And since I have received keys for a good number of the games I have reserved, it seems pretty random whether the right info will be saved or not in the database when reserving.

"ALWAYS devs/publishers decisions, WGN has nothing to do it with it." Seems I expressed myself incorrectly, I wanted to mean that the devs/publishers are the greedy ones(not WGN), they get thousands of votes and only give 100-200 keys, this is very unfair, not only they damage the Greenlight system they also use ppl to their needs, by just rewarding a couple, I'm sure even if they gave just 1 copy there still be hundreds of ppl voting.
I'm talking only about the devs/publishers not about WGN itself, but all this promo are done through this site.

If they are hammered me because of this, i didn't use any extra accounts and when i entered giveaways and got the product keys, i used them on my Steam account.
So, that hammer was wrong ^^

Haha, no. I have many titles to play but it would be great to try my chance to get Orbital Gear. They say it is similar to Soldat (with space theme).

I'm curious, so it seems like i care now :) At least one person cares :P

I don't knock down good games to get free keys for shitty worthless games that I'd never touch, so I have no idea what's up with WGN.

Since Orbital Gear giveaway, i couldn't be able to enter WGN site again. Last thing i tried was "Login via Steam" and... BAM. First, site gave me error code 500 and now i can't open it (connection has timed out).
Tried many things, cleared cookies, tried another web browser and finally used a tunnel site.
Guess what: Tunnel site opened Who's Gaming Now site in a second!
So, from now on are they using a region restriction system?
