Dota2 kills my notebook

And the moment the update is over everything is fine again.

Actually this happens always when Dota 2 updates, regardless of whether I use my laptop or desktop.

I've noticed this issue too, it might be related to steam's new content delivery and how it patches the files

Does the same thing with me too. When Dota 2 wants to update, it will uptade and it doesn't care if you're doing something else !

I had a problem with Dota 2. The game launches fine, but can't connect to the master servers. Since it's a game that randomly appeared in my inventory, I just uninstalled it and never touched it again.

Yepp, was same here, I got really sick of it, so I uninstalled the game, good thing I didn't like it...

The same here...awfull dl speed, takes ages to grab a few MB (and i've ftth, i dl new games up to 20MB/s from steam but these updates barely reach 200KBps) and obviously it almost froze my pc...
I hope that this is due to the beta status and that retail will fix it...

Steam being Steam. They do binary patching with normal I/O priority = 100% usage of HDD = computer hangs. This is more noticeable on slow HDD, and notebooks are slow.

They will never fix this, deal with it.

As temporal fix, download ProcessHacker and set Steam I/O priority to Very Low, Image
