I kinda hate the idea of picking one best game when it depends so much on criteria that can change according to mood, but overall, I think Chrono Trigger is the game I would object the least to calling the best. :)

eSport game, deep and very hard game,can't be mastered, no matter how much you play you will never learn everything,after 8 years I still can find something new,something to learn,plus now it is Valve game, IceFrog game,true free to play, constantly imporving with gameplay and interface options, Valve often updates game based on community feedback, and it is my lifestyle game, 8 and half years of playing when I count Dota 1 plus Dota 2....
