But sadly all the non dlc guns are awful. If you want to play on overkill without going down all the time, or death wish at all. you have to get the dlc.

No you shouldn't. Game's not as fun with strangers, plus they put in microtransactions that affect gameplay, which is bad in itself but made worse by the fact the devs promised earlier they'd never do it.

Get another game instead.

Killing Floor 1 or 2. 1 is hell a lot of fun even with random strangers, and 2 just took it to the square. KF 2 has microtransactions too, but they are really cosmetic only, see for yourself :) ZedConomy

Ohh, how naive you are. Yeah, accept microtransactions, because they certainly make a game better.. I don't care if the game is PvE or PvP, microtransactions shouldn't be in ANY paid game. If I pay for a game, I expect to have the full experience, not paywalls in the game. Back in the 90s, we had full games, then we got expansion packs, then paid DLCs, and now microtransactions in paid games. This shouldn't be a trend. Developers shouldn't be able to milk us for money.

i NEVER stated anything about the general issue of microtransactions, why did OP bother to mention the affect of gameplay if it literally does nothing but good to a user that didnt spend extra money? if you only buy the base game & never pay extra, the statistics increase the player count with a decreased percentage of additional spenders, this ratio sends the message rather than a boycott

meanwhile csgo has microtransactions that dont affect anything but some textures,oh but let's not have any microtransactions no matter who the dev is or what type of content it is, we must have a complete game with no updates or totally free updates for life, everything is perfectly black & white, so easy to knee-jerk

PAYDAY 2 became a mess. First, Overkill chased away the majority of veterans with GreedFe$t 2015, where they added microtransactions after explicitly saying before release, that the game won't feature them. Yeah, they partially fixed it now, but seriously? They sat over it for 2 months, when they saw the anger of the community since D1. I have supported their DLCs, because I knew what I got with them, but microtransactions are a joke. Especially, that their financial status didn't recommend adding them. They did this by sheer greed. They got a lot of negative press, but they didn't stop. They only "stopped" when the whole volunteer moderator team turned against them, but quickly turned them down by signing an NDA with one of them. So if you'd say something bad about Almir or one of the mods, BAM! 1 week ban from PAYDAY 2 "community".

I don't know about you, but for me, this disgusting business politics are enough to NOT support a game, regardless of its quality. There are a lot of stubborn people, who doesn't know a thing about the game, and kick you from their server even if you didn't cheat. If you were to revive yourself with Pistol Messiah, expect a kick. If you were to regenerate health with Muscler, Grinder, Infiltrator or Ex-President, expect a kick. Oh, and if you were to reach XXV-100, they think you are a cheater, so they kick you. If you don't HYOG (Host Your Own Game) expect a lot of frustration, because the remaining veterans rarely play pubs.

Consider these things, when you decide. I wouldn't recommend buying the game, instead buy Killing Floor 2. It's really made with care and love, and microtransactions are cosmetic only.

Almir Listo is the PR guy at Overkill, but he is terrible at his job. He should be the one, who keeps in touch with the community, but he doesn't do anything. Apart from banning everyone, who says a bad word about Overkill, him or the mods.

I care so much, because PAYDAY 2 WAS my favourite coop game, before greed took over the devs, and they implemented microtransactions, after explicitly saying, that they won't. And they could only do this, because of weak-minded people, who stood silent. And you know the old saying: "Silence is a sign of agreement". Only part of the community stood up against MTs. I'm sorry if I look annoying to you, but if you didn't play PAYDAY 2 (like you admitted), then you don't know the motive behind my actions. I have bought all DLCs for PD 2 prior GreedFe$t, where Overkill lost the trust of a lot of people. I even bought the Completely Overkill Pack, which was limited to 50k copies, and contained a really crappy "reward". I've been playing the game since 2013 christmas, and it developed a lot, but in the recent months, Overkill broke 2 of their promises: 1. PAYDAY 2 won't feature MTs ever. 2. COP rewards are cosmetic only. After the recent events I want to save as many people as possible from payday 2
