Brazil is larger than the continental US, and it can get cold in the southeast and southern regions -- a bit of snow is not uncommon in mountainous areas... there are even places in the Amazon where temps get to ~10C... but I digress. You can imagine it can get very cold (not by northern Europe or Canada standards, maybe high up in the Andes, but still...) in Uruguay, Argentina and Chile.

Cold days, being unusual, are more or less unexpected... I once heard from a Russian professor she suffered more from the cold here than in Moscow, because of the lack of heating and such, even though our lowest lows cannot compare to those of Southern Italy or Greece, let alone central Russia.

Hitler had a good heart, just wrong methods and some irrational hate/fear. He wanted best for his people though, and he saw the Jews as a threat to that. Other than that, he was an animal lover and artist, and pretty sure he considered himself a good person. I realize people want to think of him as "evil" because that way it's easier to detach from whatever he did, and not really see it as part of human nature.

I think what most people miss, due to the way history is written. Hitlet did not set out to exterminate the jews, he tried deporting them to england, and the usa, neither country would take them. Its also interesting to note, that after ww1, and leading up to ww2, jewish business owners refused to do business with germans, and were literally starving out entire communities of germans.. One more interesting tidbit, the star of david badges, was actually started by those same jewish business owners, who would mark their shops with the star, to indicate it was a jewish only business.

At least not 100% bad as some people seem to think, anyway. "Good" and "bad" are difficult to discuss because they're so subjective, but yeah, afaik he did it because he saw Jews as a threat, and he wanted to "make Germany great again." She has somewhat of a point, he was very kind to his dogs and children, and he did believe what he was doing was the right thing for Germany. I wouldn't go as far as calling him a good man though, since he did do some questionable things when it came to women as well as other interpersonal interactions. Hitler didn't really concern himself much with the concentration camps, some of the officers who ran these camps were much crueler than Hitler. It doesn't excuse the atrocities committed under his name, but he wasn't the sole person responsible for them either. In the end he was just a man and there were/are much crueler people than him if you look at him simply as a person and not what he is responsible for.

I actually have a very kind face. It's all about posing and lighting. :) I took about 20-25 photos in that session, and this was the only one I could do something with with the look I was aiming for. Hard when you can't check the camera properly between photos because you're in pitch black and the only light you have is a luminescent tube you're holding in the hand that's getting hotter by the second.

The downside of working in a low light environment :D I'm amazed you build your own light fixture, other light sources didn't give the right effect I assume. Why didn't you build a rig to hold your fluorescent lamps? You're a multi-talented man that's for sure.

Having a long unfiltered lightsource give a very smooth looking light to avoid harsch shadows. I bought a stock of 40+ tubes when a light-store went out of business in town for about 50$. Got small "dagger-sized" tubes as well.
Bought the cables and power source for one as a try to see if I could actually do it before I built a bigger rig. But yes, the goal is to make a few custom made ones, like one of these. It's a bit expensive with the parts though, might order from china when I finally get my butt in gear.
I love building custom made photography stuff. Got a motorized camera slider (see below) on a winch from a Disco Ball-rotating motor for time-lapse photography for example. :)

I don't know much about lighting to be honest but that makes sense. Wow, 40 tubes :D I guess you don't have to buy any more fluorescent lamps for the rest of your life. It's pretty straightforward, I'm sure you will be able to do it. The ballast is fairly expensive that's true. The cost of the parts is what prevents me from building my own stuff, but I also like to build things (don't all men?). Haha, a motor from a disco ball, I would have never thought of that. It looks good, I watched your video but why does it have that color shift (around the 0:07 mark for example)? Kind of gave your video a horroresque feel :D

Well, to be fair, fluorescent tubes aren't really the thing of the future. :) Unfortunately they aren't in quite a standard size, otherwise I would have bought a few ready made "sockets" to put them in. :P Sometimes I wish I lived in USA, where there's a Home Depot at every corner. :)
I added the colour shift to cover up a few parts where the wind had swayed the camera too much. It's not the most stable of rigs in windy conditions, but I've made some additions to make it more stable, like putting wooden beams inside the tubes so they don't bend as easily, that way I can add some weight to the bottom of the tripod to keep it more fixated.
If you check my channel out on youtube you can see my first indoor test, and some other time lapse tests, like putting the camera on top of a rotating egg timer. That last one was horribly out of focus though. :P

Oh, I would have probably cut those segments from the movie, but at least you learned something from it. The time-lapse long shot does have a certain appeal. The indoor test does seem more stable, my favorite one is the BBQ, I never realized the meat shrunk (though it makes sense). I like the idea of the egg timer, but I feel it could be more polished (better focus, more stable), I also feel like it doesn't make a 360° turn, am I mistaken?

Can't really cut them out, or there would be a jump-cut. As in the camera moves a bit between frames. It would have worked if the camera was still, which it isn't. :) And I wasn't going to spend another hour re-shooting it since it was just a test to see how it would work in those conditions. ^^
BBQ is just a digital zoom, no actual camera motion, which makes it very easy to make. But it was a fun subject to shoot.
You're correct, I only shot about half an hour with the egg timer. There's just a lot of trees on the "backside". First and only time I've used the egg-timer rig. It's really unstable and requires a mini-tripod attached to a wooden board I've cut holes in so it would stay in place. But overall the camera is just too heavy and unbalanced for it. Would have worked so much better with a GoPro-camera, or at least a smaller lense. I wish I could afford more camera stuff equipment. :( But then again, half the fun is creating things that work almost as well as professional stuff, but for a fraction of the cost.

Ask and you shall receive. Haven't thrown it away, it's just tucked away in a box in the garage. Knew roughly which box it was, so wasn't hard to find.
That white plastic bit is just put in place, not glued in or anything. So I can just take the top off if I want. Makes it safer for transporting without breaking it. And I don't think gluing it in place would make it much more stable either.

It's an IKEA egg timer I think, roughly this model. When I searched for it I got lots of hits for GoPro cameras attached to it as well. ^^
If I remember correctly, I had to remove the shell of it because the weight from the camera was too heavy, so the lid caught with the bottom and wouldn't turn.

Well, my experience to date really consists of seeing hipsters wearing them, along with cargo shorts type of thing. To me, if you're going to wear a fedora, you damn well better be wearing a suit, or at the very least a suit coat and slacks. You have a dress shirt and actual tie (it appears) so it doesnt look off, though the zippered coat bothers me just a little, but not enough to detract from the overall noir look of the picture. But really who cares what I think, positive or negative, as long as you like the way you look.

I've grown my hair. I don't have anything to take a selfie, but use your imagination to visualize my selfie except I got long hair tied behind my head.
I wasn't doing it to look stylish or anything, I was just too lazy to trim my hair and then realized that my annoying hair is much easier to handle by just letting it grow enough to be able to tie it behind my head. Heh.

I'm actually making myself not watch it because I feel I need to watch all episodes from the very beginning (except for those that doesn't exist any longer). I have them all, even the VHS homevideo restored episodes by fans. I just never feel like I have the time to go through them. :(
