I agree and disagree with his opinions. I definitely agree with the skill gap thing. I haven't played much Call of Duty, but the few hours I did play I was totally put off by how little health you have compared to how powerful weapons are, as well as the get ahead stay ahead scheme with air strikes and what not after you get so many kills. Invest in good matchmaking and make shooters more skill based, more player HP, less powerful guns as the TWI guy stated.
What I disagree with is that Call of Duty is personally responsible. Yes, it's a horrible franchise and it's not helping, but the underlying issue is that most people who play CoD are casual gamers (not in the sense that they play CoD casually, but in the sense they don't play many other games besides CoD). Throw any game at these people, assuming they liked it and adapted to it, I'd wager they'd have the same kind of mentality as what the TWI guy experienced.
Also, "ruined a generation of shooter players." That's redundant. HUEHUEHUE

I think I agree with you second part. I "like" CoD. But I always said it was a Arcadey shooter. I like a little bit more variety and realism.
Days of "Project Reality" are behind me Im afraid.

PC Gamer interview with John Gibson about casual multiplayer games
Totally awesome article, which "hit the nail on the head".
What do you guys think? I agree absolutely with everything
