Censored Games

So i just got to thinking, what happens if i win a game from someone who bought it/lives in a country where the game is censored or cut in some parts? Is there any way to tell? And if you do accept without knowing, can you ask Valve to give you the uncensored version from your country?

Edit: This would be useful to know for trading in the future as well.

After you activate it on your account, you can contact support to request the region be changed to yours.

Copies still tradeable/giftable can't be changed though.

This. I won the german version of L4D2, asked support, they told me to activate it, and contact them again to change it to uncut version. It was a fairly fast process.

excactly what happened to me but i traded for german l4d2, got it much cheaper cause it was censored :D
