I almost never give steam awards, it just does not seem to occur to me. Gave the first one to a steam friend when they first introduced the system so I could get the little badge and my friend did the same - so we both got badges. Since then I have gifted maybe five for answers or interractions on Steam's forums. Be sort of nice if I could turn the points into some sort of donation (world peace anyone?).
Find it awesome that you have gifted people those points - also shows me that you must be fairly active and helpful, so well done :)

I agree, a reward is only justified for say a helpful guide and not for some stolen meme. But it looks like you've heavily contributed to the cesspool Steam is at present.

started years before steam awards were a thing and still at it. sick of all the porn/borderline porn on the artwork pages of just about every game. steam removed dislikes so they dont do anything anymore. fight porn with memes

Totally agree with the ones trying to garner points through controversial topics or views. Not sure how that can be avoided. Any system where there is a reward seems to result in beggars. I have been tempted to send a reward when I read some snarky comeback to some of the poison or idiocy posted in the forums. Some make me snicker quietly - those are probably the ones I should send an award :)

Trolling for clown awards has become a problem for sure. I'm not even talking about fake reviews whoring for points because I don't really care but the amount of toxic posts in forums has been multiplied by 50.000 since then.
And yes I do give awards for helpful reviews and guides. Don't use the points for anything else really

It's the same as a normal image. There's a page about formatting here.

Just put the URL in the (). If you want text to show when the image is moused over, you can put that in the [], otherwise you can leave that part empty. Also, make sure you have a URL that goes directly to the image and not a page with the image on it.
