My time in this site has come. It's been a good 10 years, of which I visited this site daily. There are (and were) great people here, and I'm glad to have spent some time with those. However, I can't support a site that leaves a thread full of hate and disinformation in favor of terrorism open, even more so when it closes another thread that was the opposite. I don't care about your rule of "posting bad images". My rule is don't support terrorism, hate speech and fake news spreading through a mob (amongst other things), and I consider this one to be much more important. You can claim to be following rules all you want, it doesn't shift the balance. There's already too much of the most stupid (literally) kind of hate flowing free through the world right now. I stopped using twitter because I don't need twitter's bs, and I certainly don't need this site's and its slithering pathetic excuse of a moderation's, either. And if you want to reply with "why don't you just leave instead of looking for attention", or "how important do you think one person leaving is?", know you are very smart and feel free to waste your time.
The reason I'm posting this here is because I don't want to flood the discussions with yet another non-gaming thread, and this thread seems like one from long past that could use a bump.

This current era of our planet is one in which "perverts" are shoving "parts that are not supposed to be shown" in our faces.
The act of temporarily trying to avoid seeing such things will be affirmed.
But the TV, the radio, and your next-door neighbors may also be perverted.
Please keep in the corner of your mind that there will come a day when you will think of yourself as a "party" to it.
Today, we are in a period of confusion and full of people who enjoy "conspiracy theories" without "fact-checking".
And as for those who do not follow the guidelines and terms and conditions, the Mods are dealing with them as they always have.
I think things will settle down in the next month or so as things are fact-checked, and until then, I think you are right to take a break. Have a good time and I hope to see you all soon.

It's sad to see good people leave. It can only make steamgifts worse. On the other hand, I completely understand your decision. I'm not sure if I want to stay here myself.
FWIW, Mdk25 has created a new thread with most of the links removed. I hate paternalism, but it turns out that Steamgifts allows people as young as 16 to register, so maybe it wasn't such a good idea to post all those death and torture images from a legal standpoint, even though it was the right thing to do.
I think that it is more important to close the thread supporting terrorism, which is also illegal, at least in the EU. So I won't argue that you should reconsider your decision. If that thread stays up and continues to spread lies and propaganda, then Steamgifts has become a pathetic place indeed.
