They don't care. Even the PC version will be a straight port.

A non-homosexual way to "dock", I'm assuming.

A clumsy, Framrate-capped with stupid controls game that is meant for consoles and gets released in PC too, for $$ sake.

Examples, GTA IV

I remember that Dead Space 2's v-sync capped the frame rate at 30. Ridiculous.

Straight ports often perform very badly, even on good computers and are usually quite ugly.

That's odd... if GTA IV is a straight port, it probably should run very poorly on my good computer. Right?

And not look remarkably better than the console versions.

It does run poorly even on high-end machines, and it does not look all that good. Mods are excluded from this subject.

The game and it's DLC run on my machine without a hitch. I mean, I don't want to brag about my PC and how great it is... I did build it from scratch... but I think it's a bit of a stretch that I've built the greatest gaming PC of all time, right? Capable of running even GTA IV with nary a slowdown.

And the game looks great. I don't use mods. Having played GTA IV on every platform multiple times, the PC version is without a doubt leagues ahead of the console versions in terms of graphics. That's kind of the point, right?

That's a 2008 game that some 2010 machines have trouble running. So yeah, it's a fantastically bad port. Anything up from 2008 is high-end when it comes to GTA IV. Even consoles have framerate issues with it.

The only thing you have on your PC over the console version in germs of graphics, is draw distance, AA, resolution. That's all. And the menu options to go with it. That's all that's changed from the console version. Rockstar themselves admitted to GTA IV being very poorly written (code) because they changed their engine for the first time and the platforms were new to them.

I pass the recommended (not by a lot) and I can't play it on medium without it spazzing out on me.

For the trifling cost of $0.99, a patch will be available shortly after release to improve speed and allow mouse smoothing and aiming assists to be turned off.

Demo can be unlocked via micro-transactions:- US $2.99; EU €2.99; AUS/NZ $6.99 (USD).

Similar situation to when companies gave their demos to gaming magazines in days of yore for inclusion on cover tapes/discs, so stop whining and touch your toes, you stupid entitled morons.

If that's true seems that for first time in a while I'll have to go back to Neverland, to find my trusted unofficial demo supplier

Dead Space 3 is a console port. They don't care about about the minority PC gamers.
