I think Dumbledoor said in one of the Potter books that we start appreciating socks as a Christmas gift as we get older. and it's true. people keep asking me what to get me, and I don't really care as long as it's something I can actually use... screw expensive ornaments, a screw driver or a good boning knife would be much more welcome
p.s. been a while Sf :D

You know what's even better than socks / "something I use" in general?
Gift cards for "normal places" (so not lik a perfume one) - get the book you want, the piece of clothing you need - and you still got it as a gift. So, so much better than a "I thought you need this / will look good in your room/apartment" and being a laptop holder of a wrong size or just some knick-knack collecting dust. But yeah, a nice pair of socks is so much better than random stuff

I'm wearing socks right now! Like, at this very moment!
If it wasn't for socks, I'd have two empty drawers in my dresser, imagine that, two empty drawers, now I only have one empty drawer!
Hooray for socks as gifts!
Now what to put in that one empty drawer...something giftable...

Thats recommended, because for old infrictions there is a high probability, that they were already suspended for the nonactivated/multiwin.
But you can still request a new winner even if it was in 2000. In the worst case the request is denied and the user not suspended.

The older the infraction, the higher the likelihood of someone having already noticed it and reported it, but infractions don't "time out", and someone who's done something bad years ago can end up getting suspended for it, if they've never been suspended for it in the past.

It should have been closed as soon as the OP was suspended, imho.
Nothing good will come of leaving it open, and it only gives others a chance to mock the OP while he's away.
While I don't agree with his opinion, I also don't see the need for further insult toward him.

Vast majority of the games on SG are cheap indie games of the low-quality variety, since they are the easiest to get through megacheap bundles. I really do not get why people thought that the majority of the event gifts wouldn't be them as well. Not everyone can afford to get decent games for the event.
(Then again, it is also a bit sad that I have two non-bundled community whishlist indie game games in the pile and barely any people click on the boxes. :( I am not a good package designer. ^.^' )

(That makes me sad. But determined! 🤔)
Mhm. It was kind of just a given, since you can't filter them and that would be unfair. It was always going to be a snapshot of the kind of giveaways SG usually has, so no hard feelings really. Makes finding gems more rewarding, anyhow :)

That is the good old "judging a book by its cover". Also, we tend to reward what we find pleasant to our senses. So it becomes more likely for people to gamble on a box they like and by that somehow rewarding the creator of such box with a "like". I made a few boxes. The first ones were lazily designed and they got a poor response. I took the time and effort to improve the look of the next ones and they got 5 times the entries. The games inside are not too different regarding their value. So there... ;)

I also didn't like 90% of the boxes I opened, but I just didn't participate and waited 24 more hours. No need to complain, since there's nothing else you can do than wait.

From my experience of event so far as Level 1 contributor, there's lots of low-level troll giveaways.
If it happens to you to come across Secret Santa with most of these features:
..there's 60% chance it being some unremarkably gross single-dev Indie that contributor got extra with their HB pack.
Don't do that. Exploiting others' curiosity to drive them away from potentially good giveaways for another 24 hours isn't funny.
