I would like to create a giveaway but I'm not sure of a few things eg:
I can put a game on steam but I have not really liked not being gift?
Should I send the key to the winner by e-mail?
I lose money on it?

Sometimes sending a key by email can be risky because you don't have the guarantee that the winner will mark it as received.
