i've noticed that most giveaways have about 2000 some even close to 3000 entries. what if there were to be an option to add a limited entrie giveaway.

the way it would work is. the person who gives the game away enters a maximim amount of entries and once that number is reached the giveaway is executed.

it would be nice to have this option so the entries stop being sooo over populated.

just an idea. what do you guys think?

There are also group and private giveaways.

Why did you double post it? No, it has been brought up lots of times, and there is still no such feature. Guess why?

Many have already asked.

Want to join giveaways with less people?
Private groups.

What everyone else has said. This has been suggested many times, and every time it gets shot down. People are always looking for ways to increase their odds of winning, but you have to remember something: You aren't paying anything to be here, so you are looking for ways to make it easier to get something for nothing.

And it really wouldn't increase your odds. There are the same number of people, the same number of giveaways, and the same number of points either way. It would increase the odds for the giveaways you manage to enter, but you wouldn't be able to enter as many because they would fill up. It would really only benefit people that spend tons of time here, and they already have a higher chance of catching short giveaways.

Limited entries would be a terrible idea. In stead of giving everyone an equal chance, it would favor people who use a script to enter giveaways as fast as possible, locking others out of the drawing.

The idea has been brought up but the problem is that it would necessarily impact people in different time zones negatively. Essentially that there are inherent peaks/valleys in user activity and that those who come on during the 'slow' times would not be able to enter popular giveaways.

They could always move their families into countries with more suitable timezones.

This is already happening thanks to giveaways being minimum 1 hour. Many times I woke up to find some that I couldn't have entered.

How's this any different from making shorter/longer giveaways?

I think this thread is another variation of the 'waaah I didn't win' threads.
