So, Recently i decided to buy Battlefield 4 for PC as my friends had it and i thought it was great fun on PS3 (and it was on sale...) however i noticed that my PSN account was linked to my old Origin account. I thought i could simply un-link it and link it back to my new account although that wasn't the case. I had to contact EA and go into a live chat with an adviser to sort out my issue which i had to spend half an hour going through security questions. When we finally got to the point on moving my PSN account to my new Origin account, i was told that i would "...Lose all Stats, Progress and unlocks as well as any bought DLC and Items". It seemed to me at first that the adviser must have hit their head or something as they just asked me to forfeit my Stats and Progress (Level 83) as well as DLC (£80.00 = Base game + Premium) but they were being serious. After questioning them about the money loss, i simply get the reply "Yes!!!".

So i ended the chat. If i could add attachments i would have added a screenshot of the chat of which i wasted nearly an hour over.

Have any of you had any issues with EA and if so, what was it?

If you read through all that^, Thanks for reading my rant.

Rant over.

I never had any problems with Origin/EA, I only used the chat support once to change my Origin Email.

EA service is strange. The only thing I find any good about it, it's the customer support. Well, not that good but, at least it is fast.

Fast yes, useful, if you're lucky.

Did they offer you a 15% discount coupon for anything in the origin store? Or did you leave before they had the chance to.
Seriously, that was their only answer for me in my 3 Live support dealings with EA. "Sorry Sir I can't help you with that. But here's a 15% discount coupon for anything in the store."

You can always upload it to imgur and post it. :)

And yeah, this sounds super crappy, and apparently Origin support is better than Steam? Eh.

Steam support is pure crap, but then again, Valve only handles their own games and payment issues, so just the bare minimum and hardly ever in an acceptable time frame.

Yes. tbf, in this case, there was a lot of stupid going on. I think it's some kind of policy to prevent account theft and eBaying, but then again the EA support is just plain crap, they do shit before asking or without actually telling you what they're gonna do and generally, it takes them ages to do anything if even. Another reason to avoid console games if possible is their general account system and you never know if that dickbag publisher needs to have his own account but wouldn't want it to be integrated into theirs so you gotta link accounts which puts them both at risk in case.

I played NFS: World (their mmo racing sim). I ad some transaction (now I wonder why i did them). On one of them I had an error and my money were blocked. So I went to that live chat and spent 2 days convincing the operatr (lets just call him/her that) that it was a genuine issue from their side and not that I didn''t have any fund on my card. They even asked why I didn''t use paypal as it did not have any issues with tah. Yet again I was left explaining to them that my region didn not have a paypal option, which the operator felt it was strange and had to check for 10 minutes. I was left waiting 6 months for any news as I wrote to them atleas once a week to ask them if there is any progress with my situation. And every time I as connected to a different operator and had t explain everything all over again. In the end after many "I will escalate your issue to our billing specialist" copy/pastes I was refunded some in-game curreny, a coupon and was said that the money were unblocked a week after the error somehow. I looked at the chat like deer in headlights and quickly thanked and exited the chat.

tl:dr So in the end Yeah, I understand your rant :D Sorry for the wall but had to say it.

6 Months! I couldn't wait that long. And then to find out the money cleared a week after the error? Haha, i would be annoyed :P

The fact that it was an eror on their side but tried to convince me it was my own fault just made more angry after every conversation with them. Sad part was that every time was a different person. But in the end the last one was really nice and really checked what had happened. And annoyed is putting it lightly.

I had my Origin account hacked in the great Russian invasion of 2012. Spent 8 hours on the phone with them, about 6 of these precious hours were wasted on hold... Basically to be told to buy the game again and create a new account, and change the password on every single other thing I had. I lol'd, hung up, learned some russian using google translate, and reclaimed my account. The Rus linked his X360 account to my Origin account, so I filed a complaint at Microsoft and he got banned for life off his box.

But yeah, I wasn't expecting to be told to buy the game again. "It's not our fault, so throw more money our way, plx."

This could very well be due to Sony, not EA.

They said it was to do with their servers. They said that the account, Whether it is Xbox or Playstation, would lose their stats in not just Battlefield but in other games such as Fifa.

How? All the payment stuff is on the EA account and the PSN account stays the same, so how would it be Sony's error? They only get told what you're eligible to download and what credentials to use for logging into a 3rd party account as far as I am aware.

Sorry to hear that, but still not as bad as Ubisoft in my honest view (at least not at the moment).

"First things first: general gifting remains the same. You can buy a game directly for a person, who can then redeem and access it immediately.

Gifts purchased and placed in the purchaser's inventory, however, will be subject to a thirty day wait before that game is available to trade. Here's what Valve has to say about the new rule:"

the only problem i see here is if you want to buy large quantitys and make gift stock ...

but in the other way i feel more secure with it ... now i know that the gift i recieved it will not be revoked...

no problem for me .. but i dont make gift stocks

I'm not in the let's hate EA bandwagon (I'd much rather hate Activision). What exactly did you expect would happen? You owned the game on one account already, as far as they're concerned you are buying a new copy that starts from scratch (why in the world would u expect u wouldn't have to buy the DLC again is beyond me, new copy = 0 extra stuff).

Hate on them as much as u want but they didn't do anything wrong here.

I don't hate EA, i just thought it was stupid how they said everything i owned would be lost. And to be more specific, i wasn't talking about losing stuff/requesting that i should have my DLC and Stats moved over onto the new copy. They said i'd lose DLC and Progress on my PSN account. I knew i had to restart on PC however i was annoyed that they couldn't simply save my PSN Progress and DLC if i was to choose to move my account over.

I only had to chat to EA over one issue - the "supporter" insisted that the problem was probably with my internet connection and suggested I rebooted my router. Did I say this was during a live chat?
