Upcoming Humble bundle (Discussion/Guess thread)²

It seems that its cool to cry about everything. Epic, EA, humble, IGN, steam, ubisoft etc.

Well if it wasn't for Humble we would have 2-3 good bundles in a whole year. When you have no competition you don't need to improve. Less and less (decent) developers are willing to put their games in bundles, which is understandable. Market is saturated, it is not like couple years ago when there was only Humble, and you knew all games in a bundle since they were indie hits. If they can keep up Monthly quality good I won't miss regular bundles that much.

Rather than Humble intentionally sabotaging their regular bundles to sell Monthly/Choice, it's more that publishers are less willing to put their games in cheap bundles, fully aware that they'll end up in grey markets for pennies, secondary transactions from which they won't earn anything, except for extra pressure from "non-paying" customers who might have issues.

Sure, it could be argued that they still get paid for the initial purchases... from customers who don't fiddle with sliders, that is.
In any case, the other reason, which is more troublesome for smaller companies, is that this devalues their games, so much that anything that's not AAA is considered "shovelware" (even though Humble is a far shoot from what you'd expect of DIG or Indie Gala), sold for cheap on grey markets or traded away, just because somebody would surely be willing to get anything for a +1 or a few card drops if it's cheap enough, and profitors don't mind how much they earn, as long as they do earn something.

Humble Monthly/Choice suffers more or less from the same fate, with everything but AAA games and high tier indies sold for pennies on grey markets, but on the other hand, they don't have sliders, so publishers are, at the very least, guaranteed to earn money.
Easy to guess what they'd go for given the choice (totally unintentional pun), from both a financial and visibility standpoint.

TL;DR: when in doubt, blame the profitors.
It doesn't even come as a surprise that the decline in the overall quality of bundles coincides with the surge in grey market usage and farming (and the business behind it), and Valve's anti-trader measures.
