Being in a similar situation I can relate to the need for good news like those and I'm glad that things are getting better for you!

Aww you're an auntie! Babies are the best thing in the universe. They can heal any trouble.
Also good to read you won a bit of fight against the system. Gods know it's never easy, wherever you are.
Sending you good vibes for the next steps (moving is a hm... witch?, I know!) and all the luck from now on, especially for you and your partner to be able to make a life together the way you want to.
Maybe summer is going to lift that damn year up after all ;)

Oh sh*t, that sucks indeed.
I have a friend who bought an apartment just outside Paris, suuuuper calm. On the 6th floor with a great empty view of the city all the way to the tower. Took him a year to find his ideal apartment.
2 months after he moved in, the old storage area next to the building got torn down (well, over about 2 months of bulldozers and wrecking ball from 8am to 6pm) and they built a huge 10 floor apartment complex (well, over the next 18 months). No more calm. No more view and his apartment has cracks in the walls from the jackhammers and bulldozing next door. He can't even sell it anymore.
Paris.
I hope you find calm somewhere else and some peace of mind.

Paris is such a horrible town to live in to be honest, it's super polluted and people are overall really stressed all the time. Paris is nice to visite with a plan of where you want to go, certainly not to spend your life unless you just want to go out every night.

It's all true. Even kids are stressed here. It's like they absorb all the noise and the stress of everybody. When you see a kid smiling in the metro, it's 10 to 1 they're tourists.
And I'm not even getting into the ridiculous rent prices. I'll never be able to buy a place here. But I need to stay put for work and I can't really live very far because I get night shifts and coming back home at 5 or 6am with a 25 mn bike ride is working nicely.

I normally pick any sort of potato related option in polls, but this one is hard to swallow. Anyway, I'm very glad for you!

Hey guys, for once the ceiling isn't falling on my head, I didn't receive 5 bad news in a row and things are getting better for me. After fighting for over 3 years, my handicap is finally officially recognized as such. It doesn't seem much, but it's a life changer to me.
Thanks to that I'm receiving an appropriate financial help that will allow me to buy what I need to take of care of myself, me and my partner will be able to move from our current apartment which is dangerous to me (stairs and me aren't friends), we may even be able to get married, something that wasn't possible before due to the conditions of the help I was receiving as unemployed.
As bonus with all those good news which are getting me super excited, my baby sister just gave birth to her first son and the little Mathew is in good health and shape.
I'm not one who speaks much here, but I met a lot of really nice people in the community so I would like to share my happiness with you all with one or more giveaways. I'll check the result of the poll within the next few days and see what you guys want.
WARNING : The giveaways are up to the 8th 6PM CET, if you haven't answered by the next day morning to my invitation, I'll ask for a reroll as the special price will stop soon, so make sure to be attentive.
