What will happen to my Steam account?
Should I write a will with all my Steam Id and password and ask that it be given to my next of kin?

Doesn't that violate Steam's terms of service?

So I'm just suppose to let my collection disintegrate into nothingness?

Thankfully, steam doesn't use kinect to check who's playing the game (just yet) so... what Valve doesnt know wont hurt them :P

I believe there was something similar to this with Apple and iTunes. Some famous (only reason it hit the news) dude wanted to leave his iTunes account to his kids when he died. But Apple said no, due to the fact you do not actually own the music, but a license to it. Since you do not own any of your games on Steam, and are instead just "renting" a license to them, it's probably the same case.

Tbh the "only" way of doing that would probably be to give your login, password as well as login and password to steamguarding email address to the one you'd like to inherit it. Afaik legally there are no ways for you to "pass" those things on as Steam games are just a "personal subscription" and that's it. Or just go for GOG and Desura with DRM-free. :P

Posting things like that (for example on Steam forums) can get you banned actually, because it is against the TOS.

Give the account to your best friend and write in your will that you want steam told that you are dead and that your friend is accessing your account without permission, then watch as your friend receives an email letting him know that the account has been suspended. Guaranteed kicks for the afterlife.

Preotect all your acounts with passwords you don't tell anyone else. Next life just do a regression under hypnosis to get them(odds are they have time to make the procedure better) and get acces to a really classic collection.

Use autologin. That way they will still have access to it as long as your computer works!
