Rip, user reports.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

lol user reports are pointless.. most likely each one of those users were dealt with and your tickets will NEVER be touched.. if you reported those users for something, then so did 2dozen other people, and only 1x single person gets their ticket closed, the rest just sit there FOREVER. imo close em and move one, it's doing nothing but clog the system and making it appear much worse then it is.

then so did 2dozen other people

maybe this tickets are about trade feedback (•‿•)

Permalink

then it should be filed as a "feedback request change" or "other" and it would of been dealt with 1+ year ago. ;)
improperly filling out a support ticket will ofc cause it to sit there forever too.

But there is no "feedback request change" cathegory.

i meant "Request Received Feedback" if it were a GA, and "Other" for Trades.

Are you sure trade feedbacks should go into the "Other" cathegory?

Permalink

the user report has the better sub-category that matches the scenario, but the outcome of user reports is they just get overlooked. too many reports per day and too easy to miss. using other will get a much better response time.

User - Misuse of trade feedback.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

it's a mixture of two things then.. user reports cannot be replied to at all by mod or support, they likely forwarded it to admin and cannot say anything to you at all. and as Cjcomplex said below, those requests require a super admin to take care of, and there is only 2x of them with many requests that take even higher priority then feedback. if it were filed under "other" the same amount of time would apply, however support/mods could of told you they forwarded your request over to admin.

it's not that they "won't even look at trade feedback reports" it's as simple as they cannot talk to you about it (same as you cannot go in there and add a comment yourself) - additionally, they also can easily be overlooked or missed due to the shear amount of user report tickets filed. (two reasons i say it is better to file it under "other")

I don't know if they look at it, but even CG's profile has fake feedback /misused ones, and they are not actively removing it :D

Trade feedback can only be dealt with the Super Mod (who has been afk for 3 months) and Cg. No point in filing those tickets imo since they are usually outweighed by positive rep and the fake negs are easy to spot.

They will stay forever though. :/ It's a fact that reroll tickets are the only tickets that get resolved quite fast. All the other tickets take their time, maybe even till the world's end. :P Anyway, no matter how everyone's sugarcoating it, they must change the ticket system somehow in order to be able to check tickets faster. How, you may ask? I don't know. :P

The only change to the ticket system that would work would be changing the "number of tickets" to "support staff" ratio...

But some of us do this for a living, so we are suitable, but there's no formal vetting process like in a real job, so it ends up being about gut feelings and that has it's own schedule.

Those are user reports. User reports are read-only, no one can answer those. In addition, as it was mentioned above, currently only 2 people can manage the trade section issues - the super-mod and the admin himself.

Rinarin has been MIA for months now... and I doubt cg has the time to waddle through these reports.

I do hope the upcoming changes will help the situation, but the way I see it a few support members hired specifically to address trade-related requests would be quite helpful.

One suggestion that I think would lessen some of the backlog and staff burden is to just close the trades part of the site that staff hardly pays attention to anyway. There would be far less reports to weed through (I'm assuming here that reports from both are combined in one listing) and there are already more than enough other ways to do trades without that site.

That's not what I said. I said that staff doesn't monitor the site. Big difference. It's like a kids playground without a supervisor around to make sure they aren't doing anything wrong.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

there's nothing really to monitor. they cannot physically stand between a trade, or separate users as if they were a teacher in the hall stopping a fight. nor can they stop the fact that there are scammers and victims everywhere you go. they also cannot rely on picture evidence because it can be a total fabrication. what left is there to supervise?

the trade section could come with better warning and its own faq related to proper trade techniques to avoid scam. but it can't even use a babysitter even if there were spare ones on the site.

That would piss off a lot of peeps. A good chunk of sg users are just here for the trade section so to see that shut down will cause havoc among traders. Especially since Barter looks like it will die soon, which only leaves reddit which has extremely strict rules.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

why would they close down the trades section? just because you don't use it doesn't mean thousands of others don't. I started using the site for trading, and then branched out into other areas like giving away games.. I certainly wouldn't stay if the trade section was closed down..

Permalink

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

what the hell? this is my main way of trading. and not only for me, for many others aswell. i rely on the SG rep system. just because you don't use it, doesn't mean it can just be removed.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You rely on a broken rep system that can be abused and has no one actively monitoring it against abuse? OK. That's your decision. The point of my comment was that there's very little input from staff - not that no one uses the site. Try to get -rep removed that a scamming user added to your profile and tell me how things go. If the site was run correctly then carry on but until then it's a den of toxic users who are allowed to get away with almost anything. I've been reading the complaints for over three years and nothing has improved in how the trades side of the site is run. Jatan11t comment above is the first indication that something might be going on with fixing the trades site the whole time I have been here.
