Corsair Vengeance 1500. I recommend it to anyone looking for a great quality gaming headset made by an excellent company. Though personally, when I need to look for a replacement for my current headset, I'm going with a decently priced studio-quality pair of headphones, an asus sound card, and a desktop mic.

I have that one and it's great quality. But just a head's up to others in the female gaming population, it you have a slim neck (like I have) this is very heavy and really takes some getting used to/you won't want to do extended periods of gameing - constant neck pain.

To be honest, it's best not to go for a 'gaming headset'. They tout a bunch of useless features and don't really provide good sound quality in return for your money. You're better off going for just a cheap headset or a decent studio headset with a separate microphone if you require voice communication.

This is not entirely true beyond the under $50-75 range. My headset has great sound quality while keeping a clear mic.

I'd like to see the comparison of your headset between an equivalent priced studio headset, just out of interest.
Most people don't really notice the difference anyway unless they're an audiophile.

This is what i currently use and the quality doesn't seem bad in the least, in a couple cases the quality out preformed some of the more expensive ones I've seen like the Beats sets, and people seem to never shut up about those. Edit:for comparison, I'd need to actually need access to some of the way better sets.

The Beats ones are terribly overpriced. In some cases, the cheap, Razer Electra headset outperformed the expensive Beats models.
If you look at a similar priced set of Sennheisers or something similar to that, the frequency range exceeds pretty much every gaming headset from what I know. Like I said though, doesn't make too much of a difference unless you're an audiophile.

Steelseries Siberia V2.
Sennheiser is also very good but overpriced
best cost effectiveness: headphones (akg for example) + mic

Siberia V2 is extremely good, i'v had it for over 2 years never had problems, sound is great, mic is perfect, only problem: if you rage throw it it won't live past the 1st time.
There is also the Plantronics Gamecom 777 am using atm, and its a great headset for less than a hundred euro, solid, comfortable, only the mic is kinda placed far away from your mouth, you need to force curve it a bit.

You arent supposed to rage throw headphones, use your mouse next time.

I rage throw anything close to me, phone (nokia 5220 X-music never broke the asshole tho XD), Mouses(Habu ,MX-512, Deathadder, Kinzu were victims), Controllers (tons of cheap ones and one Xbox 360 controller).
basically anything except the screen lol.

The wireless corsair set is nice.

I love my studio monitors and they are great for many things, but gaming, the cable is just in the way if it is a kb/m sort of game. Since I use the Razer controller and it is wired, it is great for that, but not with a mouse.

Had the Logitech G930 for a little over a year and loved them. They're the most comfy headset I've ever worn.
I advise you not to get caught up by labels and brands.

To be honest the reason I said this was the opposite of what you said. I've only really heard bad things about Logitech and I think this headset actually surprised a lot of people with its sound quality.

An excellent headset. Feels a bit fragile and lightweight, but comfy and decent sound for a set of PC cans.

IMO you can't really use monitoring headphones for gaming (or for listening to music for that matter).
You choice should depend on your priorities just like buying a shoe. You might need it for mountain climbing or for running or casual or formal.
For gaming i use Plantronics types IMHO they have the best soundcancellation for their price.

Frost edition is way too expansive for just some leds and a overall blue color, over 30-40€ diff for the same performance unless you prefer flashy things avoid it!

I like my Logitech G35, but I'm a Logitech nerd. I've never had much problems with the headset (or Logitech itself) save from 2-3 times where it's not been supported in games, like The First Templar. The wire is thick which is very welcomed, since I'm rather clumsy at times and break wires easily. The sound is perfectly to my liking, the headset itself is a bit heavy which might be the only real downside for me. I got this headset about 2 years ago on a cheap sale, very worth the money. :)

I've used Logitech H110 for over 2 years now. It was about £15, and IMO it was great for both listening to music and a great change from my £5 crap headset which had the sound quality of a calculator. The only problem I've had with it is that the plastic near to the point where mic is being bent broke. It's nothing a little sellotape can't fix though.

Logitech makes nice headsets (they make nice everything, really) but please, don't ever buy anything made by Coby. That's only a step up from buying Chinese knock-off brands like "Sorny" and "Magnetbox" lol

These particular Coby headsets are actually pretty damned good for something that can be purchased for just over $10.

I've been searching for a good gaming headset myself. I've gone cheap and used a Sennheiser CX-400 II that I got for my phone untill now. But I think I will buy an Ozone Oxid rev 2. They are well in my budget and they are not bad.

I'd never buy USB headsets, those get detected as a new device whenever you plug them in so you'll have to do settings all over again and stuff mostly, pretty annoying and they don't offer any benefit.

Seconding this. They are dirt cheap ($20-$30) yet are extremely durable, comfortable, and have a good sound quality. I've used other people's headsets that they have payed $100 or more for, and while they are nice, I don't see a significant improvement to justify paying 5x as much for them.
