... and all my scripts don't work.

Lovely.

I am blinded by the brightness of the site. Someone help.

I suggest cg please make a dark theme for the site by default.

easier to ask the script maker to adapt to the site.

btw, you can add the new url to each script

I'm doing that right now. At least I'm not blinded anymore and got my dark background back. That was the most important thing.

Should this be in this category? It's not really a bug or a suggestion. I don't mind the change, but... then again, I don't use scripts.

Most scripts are quality-of-life improvements that should be integral to the site to begin with.
How do you even survive without SG++ and SilentGuy's Add-SGTool-Links-To-Profiles? =O
It's more a PSA about the matter, than it is an entreat toward cg to fix something.

More notable than its benefit of notifying script-writers and users about the compatibility issue, it saves many of us wasting a lot of time trying to figure out what's wrong.

It's quite suitable for posting here, I think, and it seems likely to be the first place we'd look to try and figure out the issue.:)

Damn it, my hidden links script is broken. Editing to https:// in the script didn't fix it. :(

Edit - Having no luck with others I use either. :(

You can usually fix the scripts by changing...

 // @match        http://www.steamgifts.com/*

to:

 // @include     *://www.steamgifts.com*

That is very helpful, thank you. I also know that for one of my scripts (SteamGifts Blacklist/Whitelist Indicator), I had to go and make sure there was an 's' in 'https'www.steamgifts.com' on every line that it said the web address make sure it would work. Just a tip in case anyone overlooks that. ^-^

I tried changing the other references like Meow mentioned, but that didn't fix anything either [and I tried it both with and without the match->include change). :/

There's another place where you should change http into https in the case of SG++
I say "should", because I don't really see that much of a difference.

I know it sounds really obvious, but did you actually go into the settings of SG++? Everything will be reset to default at the begining.

Found & changed the other place where it said http://www.steamgifts.com to https, but still no luck.

And I can't access any SG++ settings. While the plugin is running, it does not seem to be working.

If you still have a problem, you need to change http to https, one in line 7 and twice in line 19

8 years ago
Permalink

It's still not working. I found both on line 19, and after I restarted my browser last time I could suddenly access the settings for SG++. Well, I can click on "SG++ settings", and I get to a new page, but the page does not work, and none of the SG++ functionalities work either. I tried to reinstall SG++ and only changed the bit on line 7 and the two places where it said http://www.steamgifts.com on line 19, and it's still broken.

if i want to setup more in the preferences, the site looks a little bit f*cked up to me..

Is the setting not being saved in ES options when you restart your browser?

Hmm I've never seen that 'please wait'. If you open the script file and search for this line

addToOptions("Hide entered giveaways", "esg_hideentered", 1);

is it set to 1 in your file?

Just click on ESG among buttons up top and go to Options. Then enable "Hide entered giveaways". For some reason it got switched no disabled.

Yes change it to 1. For some reason it won't save in the Options screen after you restart browser (for me at least). Doing it manually makes the setting stick.

Can't get that to work as intended yet.
Guess I'll wait for an update from kelnage :)

Changed three lines in the script from "http" to "https", changed "@match http://www.steamgifts.com/" to "@include ://www.steamgifts.com*" but nothing changed.

Oh well, time to wait for the script makers to officially update I guess.

Eh...? The dark-style I got from Mullins is still working. The app in Google says it's called Stylish. I'd check it out, it's pretty good!

Not entirely educated on scripting but is HTTP the type of coding so it messes up any types that aren't HTTP?

As said above, the Chrome "Stylish" addon works just fine with the new HTTPS update - along with the (frankly awesome!) SGv2 Dark :)

I'm using the script version of SGv2 Dark with Tampermonkey in Chrome, and needed to do the edits. I prefer having the slide out menu which, at the time I made the choice, didn't exist in the Stylish version.

And never will because stylish is for CSS only, so obviously it can't have as much functionality as javascript.
