I'm also sort of wondering what sort of "problems" would lead to the OP not being able to simply give Steam money directly. They generally like it when people give them money. :-)

Depends. I've gotten wallet codes from a few Ebay sellers that just give you the code off the card immediately. During summer sale I had one seller who I was buying them from for a few dollars cheaper. Had high feedback and all that, so was no worry.

There is Fnac also, that was some time ago added as another legal store, here in Spain, I can see it on the "Add Wallet" page on Steam, but this are in only physical stores.

Codes, yes but there's LOTS of stores that sell the cards now.

I've gotten them at just about every major drug store chain. CVS, Walgreens, Duane Reede (NYC area chain).

Gamestop you just go to the cashier and say you want Steam wallet and they'll generate a code that prints on your receipt and email it to you immediately as well.

I use TremorGames, you earn coins from games, surveys, and etc and use those coins to buy games, trading cards, emoticons, etc. I got my Globe cards from there :D. Here's a link, make an account using it for a 10% income bonus (i think 10%).

You're running the risk of getting scammed if anyone is offering anything below $20.

Gamestop is as far as I know the only legitimate way of getting wallet codes, which is actually kind of convenient because paying in cash means that if your Steam account is hijacked nothing gets traced back to you.

Wallet codes only exist in 20 and 50 dollar denominations IIRC.
