before 2 weeks i made a giveaway for 3 copies of "Serious Sam 3 BFE Gold" and at that time it didn't have (*) that tells me i'll not get full Cp for it.

according to : http://www.steamgifts.com/forum/vUnIE/important-updates-to-contributor-values-and-bundle-games

i should get full Cp because i made the giveaway before the reduction

so is it a mistake or they changed the rules ?

This shit it's totally unfair. I spent more than 25 dollars in 2 PayDay copys, and I did the giveaway BEFORE going to Bundle List, and now I lost 50% of my value. IT'S TOTALLY UNFAIR -.-

They backdate the bundle list games to when it was first made available.

Games can get bundled retroactively.

That game was added to the list of exploited games, due to regional pricing compared to USD it was over 95% off.

In which region was it 95% off? I would have jumped at the chance to get it then...were I living in that lucky region.

From December 1st, 2013, 79 rubles at Russian store: http://www.steamprices.com/ru/sub/28637/serious-sam-3-bfe-gold

That's about $2.37 or 95.2% off compared to $49.99 US price.

No, not a mistake.

It's the russian price compared to the US.

so its an exploited game because its cheaper in one country compared to another/ just just sounds like jealousy rather than exploited game prices LOL

Actually that isnt hard, its more annoying if you give away a non-bundled game, winner received and marked it and than this game appears in a bundle and get marked retroactively bundled and you loose CV, cause the day counts bundled not the specific hour the game released in the bundle.

+[]() if you don't live in region where it was discounted and bought it more expensive :( like all my SS:CP giveaways :(

It's not bundles. You are confusing things. Bundle games will get less CV count when the game gets bundled. Previous giveaways of that game will get full CV. This game and a few others however had huge price reduction (like 95%+ off). That's is why the CV amount was reduced. It was back dated to the first time the game got that high discount. So you will only get less CV is you buy a game when it is 95% or more off. Not many games fall in the category and people who buy large amounts of those games are effectively trying to abuse CV.

Definitely wrong my friend, the day counts..so yes you can get less CV for a non-bundled game, even if it marked as received, happend to me once with CK II.
Edit: Let me explain you:

  1. Make a giveaway for a non bundled game.
  2. game is marked received.
  3. 4 hours later bundle with that game is released.
  4. CV is retroactively removed

I was talking about more than a day. Only games that are considered exploited will have the CV reduction back dated, from the first time it was discounted. Also, I'm pretty sure they said if a giveaway is already made before they put the game on the bundles list, they would not be affected, maybe they changed it after that but even so, games would have to be given out the same day as a bundle with that game to be affected by CV reduction. And what are the chances of you buying a game and it being bundles a few hours later. It's low I would say.

tl;dr

  • Games considered exploited like the case with Serious Sam BFE, will be back dated to the first time it was exploitable, which could be months back.
  • Games that appear in a bundle should not get a CV reduction if you have given it at least a day before it was bundled, not sure what happens if it is given away and bundled on the same day, but if there is even one day difference, you are safe from CV reduction.

I'm just curious, if SG requires a public profile, how could you register and still be here without even setting a profile?

Your case is different. You gave away a bundled game. See the link the OP posted for more info.

It's not because of a bundle. It got 95% off price reduction. So they added it to the list and back dated to the first time it got such discounts.

When I opened this post I was thinking "Cp and not CV, I must open to see what this guy wants"
Now I realize that Cp stands for "Value price" and I'm a stupid dumb jerk.

It's not when it's added to the list that matters, it's when it goes on sale at the exploitable price.
