Usually the encore is at the end of the sale but with the amount of repeats, i mean - crazy amount, the sale itself is an encore sale!

They are selling games that you already own, and the games that you dont own are being sold at offers you can pass. Also the flash sales and the community choice is just too lame

Its like going to disneyland alone when you are 40

Who goes to Disneyland alone at that age anyway? With no kids or significant other, it sounds creepy. Either a stalker or a pedophile.

I think it's been pretty good, I only started to buy on he 26th and on that day alone I bought myself 4 games. I've not bought anything since then though since I haven't seen anything I fancy. Hope the final day takes my money!

Isn't the encore day the same things again? Like the best selling/voted games for another chance to buy them? Am I correct that there's nothing new offered?

Maybe the sale is boring because you've already bought 1750 games. Stop complaining and start burning through your backlog.

I'm still hoping Double Dragon Neon makes another appearance after not winning the community choice. And there's a few games in my wishlist that have been 75% off in GOG's sale but haven't budged from 50% on Steam.

So after selling a bunch of cards in the run up to the sale I've ended up buying a lot less that I expected.

I'm waiting for the usual Morrowind/Oblivion 75% sale, but it hasn't happened yet. I kinda like the sale, but there have been quite a lot of repeats from the winter sale.

I didnt even check because i own those, but did they have price reductions on them when Skyrim was on sale? you often find related products have reductions as well as the main game on offer and it's dlc's.

I know i need to work through my backlog but the problem i have is that everytime i sit down to play i end up playing counter strike as ive played since 99 and just keep going back, i need to quit as im missing out playing some great games really

I'm liking it better than the last Winter Sale so far - I've picked up 5 games and 2 DLC's (plus Torchlight, but then Gog gave it away, so).

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I haven't bought anything so far. All the best offers are for games I already have or games I don't want that bad anyway.

Even the sales on games I do want are more like... meh, I can wait for a better offer. Buying something at 33% or even 50% off just doesn't feel like that great an offer when there's lots of stuff being sold at 75% off. I guess I just got spoiled by Steam for expecting a great discount on everything, but then that's just as much Steam's fault as it is my own.

Of course I already have enough games so that plays a big role as well. If I buy nothing I still have more than enough to play, so why buy anything at all unless the offer is so good I feel like I can't refuse?.

But, that's not the main reason. I can't find any interesting games. I only bought Payday 2.

It is highly likely imo, a guy on purple is level 250 on the summer badge lol, I bet he is not the only one, I am ashamed to say I spent money on cards also but not as much as games bought, I wonder if that is effecting the steam sales in which is making the prices of games higher than it could be..

It's ridiculous how many people are pointing out your total amount of games even tho it has nothing to do with the topic (I guess they're jelly much?).
Anyway I agree, this sale is kinda boring. Most of the games already were on a sale and it's usually AAA titles being discounted while I'd prefer some less known (indie) games. Well, maybe it's just me.
I bought several games but I'd probably end up buying them regardless of the sale (and it wasn't that good of a deal anyway). Also the badge crafting event is pretty pointless (as every year since coal).

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

i would agree they are over powering the bigger games but i guess thats just to make money, cant blame them really as thats the aim of it all for them, i agree though as i would have like to have seen a bigger indie sale titles or at least a bit more focus on it, maybe its own page or something like that, dunno

I miss when event's were related about playing games and achieve certain achievements to get prizes, these days it's all about money... competition about crafting cards? that's fishy...

About the sale prices itself it's being fine, i do not buy indie games anymore since they always end up in bundles less than 1 year after release... Oh yeah actually i have a huge complain... the dlc's prices are absurd... the business practice these days consist make a huge sale in base game and let dlc's with same price or only 50% off, give a look on Dishonored where the goty version is more cheaper than dlc's only, punishing the ones that supporting the game in release >.>

I am still waiting for bigger sales of Double Dragon Neon, Blood Rayne Betrayal, Castlevania (all of them xD) and Blade Symphony

same with skyrim. first buyers who bought the game at 60€ should have to pay 45€ more to complete the game, while legendary edition contains everything at 30€

This events were very cool, I remember it from 2011 Winter Sale I think, but the reason the didn't do more is that ppl started exploiting to get more free games, not with the new crafting events is nit possible exploit it, because every account needs to be level 8 to get cards by voting.
