+1, a protector of depression and overall a way to improve yourself on many fields. i would still have been a shy fat ass if i did not start to attend boxing course many years ago. that "paradigm shift" probably saved my life.

Draconiano, mucha suerte. Son pequeñas victorias que se consiguen día a día. Lo importante es que ya vas de camino a rehacer tu vida. Y agradece siempre a tus padres que en los momentos malos estuvieron de tu lado.

I agree from my experience and most people I know. Myself, medication made things worse for me. I'm of the opinion that happiness will never come in a pill form- not even MDMA. ^^

There are some who might benefit from meds but in my experience the only way to fight depression is to figure out what is bothering you and try to do something to change that or something to change your life/habits/environment. I know some people who absolutely need medication for their mental health and refuse to take it. I also know a lot of people who take medication that they don't really need; because a pill is more convenient than self reflection.

In the end, talking about it always helps. If it means you talk about it with a therapist; best to talk to someone about it rather than no one.

My gripe is with the over-prescribing of medication. 8 year olds on Ritalin because they are too active, 16 year olds on Prozac because they are moody. Are there any 8 year olds that aren't active? 16 year olds that aren't moody?

Absolutely with you on the medication side of things. I hate the idea of getting better when the reason for an illness is being left untouched. Then again, i try telling any aqqaintances that my bad moods are´nt their fault and they should shrug it off, which is kinda lying straight to their face and not really working in the long run either..

Also i don´t know where my post is going other than: unhealthy conditions might be unhealthy :E

Hugs buddy. You're re here to live a story that other people get to partake in and learn from. You help someone every day. Maybe you're like that huge unmoving rock on the mountainside that's holding back a wall of earth that might bury someone. Or perhaps you're the vegetation on the dunes keeping someone else's life from blowing away into nothingness. Or the calm still water that someone climbs into so they can relax and let their worries melt away for a few hours.

that happens sometimes to me too. i drift away in meetings with friends, like it happens in the movies when they just stare at nothing and suddenly someone wakes them up. 🤦
do you do any kind of sports, like running or walking? at least for me it's something that helps clear my mind while i listen to music, it makes me forget about everything else and come back home with a different attitude. 👍

Don't worry. You're not the only one. I had those moments very often and I too... cried on those nights. Sadly, I can't offer many words of encouragement but I hope that knowing you're not alone with this helps you atleast a bit with what you're going through.

I found these 2 books (narrated on youtube) very helpful in understanding depression (first book) and how to be supportive (second book)
