hey there, i'm pingu'. i recently became a father so i don't have as much time for gaming as i used to, yet i'm struggling to find a few hours every week for my (by far the biggest) hobby. My goal is to play all the games that i already own and the ones that i'll acquire over time (realistically speaking I'll probably stick with the ones that have achievements since i'm an achievement hunter and catch up a lot on retirement time - i'm still far from that period, but i'm dreaming about it almost daily). Judging by my library, you can tell i like almost all type of games (i'd exclude difficult ones because i often rage and strategy because i'm too dumb and i'd need to invest too much time into learning the ropes). There's one particular game that I liked the most, becuase it started it all for me, both for enjoying playing games and for the professional road it took me onto (i work in the gaming industry for over a decade now). The game is Mafia (2002) - you can also see it featured on my profile.
There was a very long break on ST for me, but I'm planning to work my way up to contributor lvl 10.
Sheesh, I have so much work to do now, yet I took my time to write all this down for what just started as a whitelist entry, but now I feel like I want to know some things about you as well, so I'm looking forward to your reply. cheers!

I'm CrabdaddyLonglegs. I like exploring and adventuring in games the most. Some favorites are Zelda OOT, Zelda Wind Waker, Dragon's Dogma 2, and Stardew Valley. I'll play just about anything for streams I do but I get hooked on what I'm currently into for a while in my personal life. I really like the first Jurassic Park movie, the first Hobbit movie, and pretty much anything Star Wars. I have a Quest 2 and had a lot of fun with RE4VR, but it's been collecting dust a bit lately. I'd like to play more VR stuff. I don't recall how I found SG but I was poor at the time. Once I got a good job I left the site and forgot about it. Poor again now and remembered the site after a decade so I'm back lol

Hello I'm ConanOLion and I'm a gameaholic. I came to SG when my son made the game pixel pete and asked if i would make an account on here so he could giveaway some copies of it. I did not even know about it until he told me. I agree I also like to replay Mario 64 every so many years along with other N64/Snes games. Im a cinephile so There are not too many movies from the 80s to now that i did not see, but my favorite genre would be 80s horror. Spent most of my life on PlayStation until i got my first gaming laptop now my ps5 has been collecting dust

Thank you I added you to mine. I want to get the PSVR2 also but it is too expensive right now. Not sure how it compares to the quest 3, I have the quest 2 but not sure if I should go with quest 3 or PSVR2 next. PSVR2 has better graphics, but I read GTA san andreas vr is coming to quest not sure if its going to be for quest 2 or just for 3. Im leaning towards PSVR2 for the better graphics

Hi! I fulfill the first three requisites so I'm not gonna dwell on them, but a note on number 4 - the best way to check if I'm playing stuff or not would be either through BLAEO (where I track the games I play on Steam), or HLTB. HLTB is even better than BLAEO because it collects my playtime from all libraries, and I play a decent amount on GOG / EGS / itch besides Steam. Another reason I wouldn't point you first to my Steam profile is because of card farming, which shows on my Steam games but not on HLTB (it still shows on BLAEO unfortunately, but you can see which games are being farmed because they have no play status, only playtime).
Anyway, as for question 5 - thats a really good question, I haven
t thought a lot about it but recently I've been really into walking simulators. Life's too stressful so I have been appreciating the games that give me a world to explore without a lot of stress or fail states. Favorite videogame is another difficult question, but Zelda Breath of the Wild keeps growing on me and I think it's still my favorite game of all time. I work in agriculture (not in a farm, but for a company that provides farm inputs), love rock climbing and reading, having recently finished the first book of the Three Body Problem series and I'm about to start The Witcher books before I play the games. I'd like to explore VR but I think the rigs are still too expensive. I can't remember how I got into SG but I remain here because I'm always finding new and interesting games to play :)

I mean, it's very little effort. I use ASF which auto-farms. I think selling cards granted me 20 or 30 dollars so far, which bought me a few games like Jedi: Fallen Order, Risk of Rain, Her Story and Umurangi Generation without spending real money. I'll take it hehe
I haven't played TotK yet; currently going through BotW Champions Ballad, literally just beat Revali's Trials this last minute. The battle with Windblight Ganon was insanely cool. After I finish everything I can do in BotW I might go for TotK, or for Eldin Ring. These games are so engrossing

Hi,
I like Rogue type games, Strategy, and Team FPSs. I beat Rogue for BSD in the 80s, I beat Moria and Angband in the 90s. No savescumming because I didn't know what that was at the time lol. I like games where I can stop and think, slower paced FPS, or a team FPS where I can play a support role and enable the younger people with better reflexes do the fast twitchy parts my old hands and brain can't do anymore. (It will happen to you! Get those frags while you can!)
Favorite of all time? Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead (CDDA) Play for FREE here It is open source and still in very active development. Second favorite is Team Fortress 2. When I was somewhat younger is was a real Force-A-Nature... Also played a LOT of Duke Nukem 3D in the 1990s and also the OG Team Fortress. I play a bit of OverWatch now and then but OverWatch "2" is really in a sad state these days, so I am looking for another squad/team shooter with support roles.
Me? not much to say really. I'm an old Gen-Xer. I'm about taking care of my family, fixing things, carpentry, and playing games.
I am a very patient gamer. I have waited over ten+ years for some games to come down in price. My thinking is that every day I wait, I have better hardware, the mods are better, and the game is more patched I like loud mechanical keyboards, I repair them and other (low voltage) electronics as a side gig. I also do a bit of carpentry, I make all sorts of arcade cabinets (with emulators). I also use vintage tools because they are much cheaper (and usually much better).

My name is CelticBatman (aka TheRealCelticBatman on Steam thanks to impostors back in the day), and I am a game addict. I love games. This is my primary hobby. My SO she is also thank the gods a gamer so I am blessed there. Based in the US West coast, but heart is in Scotland (Tha mo chridhe ann an Alba).
Favorite games are many, but love BG3, Skyrim, and ACOdyssey. Favorite indies are the Logistical games because the dev is a great guy, community is full of good people and the games are cathartic.
I like sims so I have MSFS (fly with Infinity Airways, but I am currently taking a break because I burned myself out from flying too much), ETS/ATS and racing rigs, as well as a Quest2 for VR, which gives me headaches and I have to take Micilizine to use it much lol. Had to try it. Not sure if it is a gimmick or real, but leaning towards niche/gimmick.
Otherwise, I play guitar, badly, and enjoy true crime and football (the real kind, aka soccer). Probably an old Gen-X'er per the previous poster by age, younger gen-x'er in practice.
Real job is an ops exec at a Russell 3000 which is gibberish for looking at spreadsheets and making forecasts all day about the data in the spreadsheets. Work from home or it would be like Office space with me the guy with the suspenders... umm.. yeah... (Lumbergh). I guess the Office Space reference reasserts I am an old X'er. LOL
Fav color is blue and currently binging the Mayans MC series on Hulu, but enjoy true crime mainly on YT (when not watching football highlights). Yes, I am a fan of Celtic, but I pronounce my handle the other way, per the Celtic peoples - hard K not soft S version.
Steamgifts high 7's. Was 8 for a day earlier this week but it fell down again. I buy bundles and if there are dupes I put them here if my SO doesnt want them, so it has take a number of years to get to this level. Level 10 someday, but in no rush. My last giveaways ended last week.
I only had one whiner about a key issue, and that was thet I did not deliver it fast enough. Three days after the end of the GA I sent them the key and then blacklisted them. No time for such self-entitled nonsense.
Steam profile is visible and I am open to adding anyone with some steam levels, as I find that 10+ are much less likely to ask me for stuff or attempt to phish me.
SO is a game dev (phone stuff) but I am not. I know enough vb to do basic stuff in excel and power bi, nothing more.
Cheers to the group and to SG as a whole for being an interesting place to be!
TRCB
PS - if I am on the whitelist already, too, it is because I am old and forgetful.

Thanks! Steam invite accepted, and also joined the roomscale VR group. If you know of anyone that curates all those free to play VR games and etc (like museums), please let me know. Otherwise I will have to learn how to curate lol

Hello Syrsly. Very nice to meet you.
I'm Frijo!
Short for Frijolito, a very cute and fun side character of a cartoon, Why did I choose it? Dont know I liked him and just stayed with it for some time now.
I would have to say that my favorite game is LoL, I know it could be a bit controversial of an opinion, I don't think it is the best in any aspect. But considering how many hours I have there, I think it would be completely unfair not to give it the title.
But in a side note, I really love RPGs or games in which you. Climb your way to the top, deciding your own game style. And or equipment to do so, that's why I loved Hollow Knight, I think is just perfection, the ambience, the characters. The difficulty and the control, is just a masterpiece for me. That's why I can't wait for Silksong, I have been waiting for several years and me and the community need it.
Outside the gaming World, I enjoy myself going to drama classes. I discovered a few years ago, and there are very few things in life that make me as good as going there.

Hey, Syrsly.
Iām iPax. (:
This thread got me thinking, though. When did I come up with this username? The furthest back Iāve been able to trace it is 2010āa combination of Appleās naming convention and PAX (the expo), although Iāve never been. But my passion for gaming started well before then. Iāve always been a PC gamer at heart, even though my journey started with the Sega Genesis and Famicom. I still remember the very first computer game I ever saw. The kid next door got a PC, and one night he invited me over to play Midtown Madness. To say that I was mesmerized would be an understatement. And it wasnāt until September of 2005 that I would get my own computer.
Iām mostly drawn to narrative games, which is pretty obvious from my top twenty-five list, although itās due for an update. After playing and finishing Breath of the Wild last year (followed by Tears of the Kingdom), I feel like it deserves a spot in the top ten. What an incredible video game!
After gaming, I would say the thing Iām most passionate about is photography. This year marked my tenth!

Love the pictures!
Thank you! Iām glad you do.
You chose Max Payne as your #1 game of all time. I can respect that opinion, but I can't agree with it. XD
Haha. Well, itās more complicated than that. If youāre curious/interested, here is the thought process behind ranking those games. It took a lot of deliberation, I had to weigh their emotional impact against other factors that made each experience so significant for me, but I was finally able to come to a definitive, yet personal decision. Itās all subjective, though. Is Max Payne the greatest game ever made? Of course not. But it is super special to me. Here is another, relevant Instagram post from 2015. (:
Oh, and thanks for the whitelist! I highly appreciate it.
Comment has been collapsed.
Personally, I'd argue Control is more fun to play than RDR2, but RDR2 isn't about being a more fun experience and is instead heavily focused on its setting and narrative and immersive elements of the setting. I will always value both experiences and couldn't rank one over the other aside from if I'm having to make a list of overall favorites like you did.
I completely agree! And it was quite the challenge, putting one piece of art above another, but it was fun. Having that prior list of all the games Iāve played in my lifetime certainly helped a lot. That alone took about five years to completeāto a degree. Iām sure there are still a bunch of titles from my childhood that Iām forgetting haha. The important thing to remember, I think, is that people change. Tastes change. What I consider my top five may not hold true a year from now. For all I know, the next time I update this, it might be a completely different list.
I can respect that you put in the work to make a list at all. I don't know when I'll have time or motivation to do that myself. GG
Much love! If you ever make a list, I would love to see it! IGN Playlist is pretty handy.

Hi!
I'm Bydydyndi. This nickname I've borrowed from character ow webcommix: positive bear deity.
I like playing coop sandboxes with my wife atm. Because Baldur's Gate 3 satisfied my need in RPG genre for months or even years. The last cool movie I saw was "Renfield" with Nicolas Cage. Also I'm watching anime from time to time. Last anime I've tried was "I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability" ongoing.
I'm here to gift and to get the games

Hello. My nickname is also chosen because various others I tried were considered having swearwords. (Even Sassinak! It was so picky.)
I'm currently playing some lower key games, partway thru This is the Police. Have another Stardew game going with the 1.6 update. Nobody Saves the World is halfway. And we're trying to finish up dlc from Horizon FW as well as Armored Core 6 this summer. We're about to finish a co-op Spiritfarer run.
I design and build print and play games, and I'm a mom raising a young gamer-child who likes games with tangential programming/building, among others. He's creeping towards "eat everything in the house" age. I also like to swing dance, strip down computers, and make chainmail.
Would love to be on a whitelist, as my luck isn't fantastic.

Oh man, pictures. That's what I've been slacking on. I tossed some up quickly.
http://yamara.plush.org/index.php/portfolio/chainmail
I don't sell. I mostly do jewelry and small bits for myself, friends, family. Large work takes lots of time, and it's not worth the amount per hour generally. But if you can knit or such, or are handy with pliers, chainmail isn't so hard, particularly for costume which tends to be the simplest weaves. I suspect The Ring Lord in Canada is still the best, inexpensive but consistent place to buy. For costume you could use aluminum, for lightweight and easy to work.
It's a side hobby, like making board games or cross stitch. It probably wouldn't be fun anymore if I made it a job.
Thanks for the add!

Hello, I'm hyrokey! I picked this because I wanted to be a 'hero' and my initials are included in the nickname as well. I actually just got to level 2 because I decided to start clearing my keys because if I'm not using them, might as well give it to people that might enjoy them. My favorite video game genre would probably be rougelites, I like the feeling of gradually growing stronger in a game. My favorite recent game with probably be Hades (the first one) while my all time favorite would likely be Pokemon Emerald.
I enjoy playing football (soccer for you Americans), and actually just had an ACL surgery earlier this year, which I'm recovering from and hopefully eventually get back to playing the sports casually. In the meantime, I've been stuck with work and play lots of games during my weekends. Coming from an IT background, I'm actually really interested in VR but I'm not at that point where I'm willing to invest in one myself, but hopefully in the near future!
Hope to be whitelisted, and maybe you'll also get a chance at one of my simpler (in terms of puzzle) and short trains I'm looking to do more frequently!

Hi, I'm FruitŠ”ober, originally my name was RomaHack337, in general, not so long ago I changed it.. it initially stuck with me in Minecraft as an association with myself, and yes, it was quite sringe XD. I can communicate in English but I'm from Ukraine, my level is 3
I love many genres of games, but I donāt particularly like card games, turn-based shooters, or realistic shooters. Although I would really like to play one of the Atomic Heard shooters, but my computer wonāt handle it:(
My favorite game as a child, this Undertale is truly a legendary game with a very deep and cool plot, I watched a million videos and comics on it, it is forever in my heart. Then only the best roguelike game Isaac
As for VR, I really want and dream of getting them, but they are too expensive for us. I only went to play in the game center on them a couple of times and it was great
My hobby at the moment is collecting games with 100% achievements. And so I take care of my health for the most part, without details (by the way, thatās where all the money goes)
thank you for your interest in my life)

Hey Syrsly! I'm Duke.
While I like most type of games my signature genre is FPS games (mostly retro and coop PVE). My all time favourite games are: Doom 2, HoMM 3, GTA San Andreas and Skyrim. (But of course most games from these franchises were really good.)
I also like sports and animals. What I don't like is this heat, and it's only June... :C

Hi Syrsly, I'm BoredQueen even though I'm not bored it was my nickname in my high school friends I used to play games with so I stick to it :D
I love watching movies, dramas mostly, gaming comes second on my hobby list but sometimes I prefer it over a movie, it really depends on the mood I guess. I used to play sims as a single player game only and multiplayer games. But after my gaming friends stoped playing over the time I've started singleplayer games and now I buy only singleplayer games :D. I loveee walking simulators, also cute stories, story driven games and some metroidvanias (but I realised over the past couple months I hate souls-like hard gamesss!!!!) I love What Remains of Edith Finch, Outer Wilds was amasing, but my all time fav game for now is Night in the Woods which I actually have a tattoo of the main character (my profile pic :D), I played that game on such a depressed time in my life and main character just really clicked with me. Other than my life on screens, I'm a phd student on pediatric dentistry and I am thinking if its too late to drop out :D

Tbh you can just join the discord as a reader - we are a chill bunch! But of course, you can also just read it when it comes around, or just ignore it~ It is, as you say, a cool project, and I find it to be very fulfilling too; even as I slowly and unintentionally take the mag over.

Hi hi! This is extremely late, but yup, I get called a lot of variations of Choco, Choc, Choccy, Latte...
I really recommend joining us even if it's only as a reader! We just really like to vibe together~ The next issue will be dropping soon, btw!

Hello there!
My name is Adzik (this nickname stuck to me in my early childhood and is a combination of the first letter of my real name and the word "dziki", which means "wild" in Polish) and unfortunately I live in Poland.
I used to study art and for a long time I dabbled in illustration and graphic design. Sadly, a dozen or so years ago everything started going tits-up. First, I suffered from optic neuropathy, which made me completely withdraw from activities related to visual arts (after all, in this profession, the eyes are the main working tool). A little later, my father, with whom I was quite close, was diagnosed with cancer and died a year after diagnosis. After all this, I had a mental breakdown, the consequences of which I am still dealing with (anxiety disorder, chronophobia and carcerophobia). Recently, I found some strength and decided to start everything again, almost from scratch (which will be difficult considering the fact that I am over 40). I started working out, going out to people a bit and learning 3D modeling (in Blender for now).
As for video games, it started with C=64 in the early 90's, and then there was the NES and almost every gaming platform available on the wider market. I've never been particularly fond of any particular genre, although today I would say that I enjoy metroidvanias, rogue likes and jRPGs the most. I also have a strange weakness for golf simulators (both the more realistic ones and the ridiculous ones like Ribbit King) and all Harvest Moon clones.
I decided to choose Castlevania: Symphony of the Night as my favorite game. It has everything I need - stunning pixel art, side-scroll gameplay, RPG elements and a lot of backtracking, all accompanied by one of the best soundtracks in history and a specific atmosphere bordering on fantasy and horror (my brother laughed that when I got PS5, instead of turning on Death Stranding or Horizon: Forbidden West, I bought and turned on Castlevania: Requiem).
I don't remember exactly why I came across Steamgifts. At the time, I had just purchased my first serious gaming PC and was looking for Steam communities that would suit me. Besides, it's nice to make someone happy with a free game and win something yourself from time to time.
Apart from gaming, I like pro wrestling, nature stuff and broadly understood art.

Sup sup, I'm Lironezzz (or Lirz...). I really love all kinds of games and genres so: Anything that's a fun shooter, games that are very engaging and stimulating (I used to play lots of WoW and I was HOOKED), good story games, and anything soulslike. Favorite story game of all time is Return of the Obra Dinn and favorite game to sink hours into is Terraria. ROTOD is a very short game and has close to no replay value but I adore it still. It has such good art direction, mechanics and is a very rounded out experience, truly and fully captivated me completely when I first played it. I shouldn't talk about Terraria much because it's well known but I will say that it's one of the first and only games that I've been playing on and off for probably more than 10 years. Truly amazing game, especially with the continued support over the years and the booming modding scene. Currently very much into Cyberpunk 2077, Tales of Maj'eyal, Ghost of Tsushima and I recently got a sweet deal on an old ps3 so the original GoW trilogy :D Fav movies of all time have to be Memento, EEAAO, Both of the animated Spiderman movies and Monster (2023). Favorite show of all time is Utopia (2013), check it out if you haven't, you'll probably really like it ;) Honestly, I came to SteamGifts all the way back in.. 2017? as a fresh lad looking for free games to pilfer... Taken a long break till recently and I was looking to dump some of my unused bundle keys but just kinda stayed... Something very attractive about making people happy with free games and getting games gifted to you is also very nice :)
PS: just finished typing and saw the argument about region-locking, not sure if it still applies but if it does then sucks for me LOL my account region is LATAM so I hope that works. If not, no biggie.
Anyway really nice to meet ya :D

LOL I've had both in the past but my PS3 was sold second hand to some family friend a long long time ago.
Had my trusty PS4 from about 2016 till now :) Will likely not be buying a new console anytime soon but I'll look into getting the new PSP if it'll be any good!
