I think it's wierd that they can sell you a game before you know if you can even run it. I guess steam refunds is the generic response to that inquiry but it sounds like they are still heavily optimizing the game to lower them. That's my guess at least.

Sys Req coming out in October, game coming out in Nov.

Yep but they still have been selling the game for a while as a pre-order. It's not really a risk since we have refunds and could always cancel pre-orders I guess. They are probably waiting on AMD and NVIDIA to finish optimizing their drivers to see where the requirements stand. Either way, I usually don't have to worry about any of that on my PC.

Actually, even though I rarely pre-oder, Fallout 4 will probably be my only pre-order ever, if they added pre-order bonuses and random crap (they won't), I wouldn't even consider doing it...

I rarely pre-order on steam. I did for Fallout 4, but just as a giveaway a couple months ago. I did buy the Pip Boy Edition on Amazon though when it was first announced :P

try lower the game so toy-consoles can run it -hardly- without melting like a vermin falling into an acid pool :P

now seriously, I wish they don't DARE touching PC version, it's bad enough as it is to get a even lesser game compared to it's "Could-have-been"

Yeah I might be getting ahead of myself, but past experiences and time will tell..

Yeah it's an even more precarious situation this time, because consoles will be getting mod support for the first time. I'm wondering how that will all work out on the technical side. It probably just because the new consoles have more memory? Either way it shouldn't* effect the PC version because Bethesda treats us fairly well.

facepalm Consoles will only get gameplay mods, not graphical mods.

Might not be the norm but some people just don't care. Even when I had just my laptop I never bothered checking them, if something didn't run I had something to look forward too when I built a new machine.

I was worried at worst, but after some reddit analysis, they said it should be close to Skyrim's, also almost all Bethesda RPGs run on toasters, I can run Skyrim on ultra with tons of graphical mods and stil maintain 60fps :), I hope it works out for you! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

To be honest, I think they might have the idea that the public that pre-orders games, is the public that doesn't care about min specs.

It runs on Creation. Bethesda Game Studios used the exact same build of the exact same engine from 2002 to 2011 without changing the requirements. Or a single line in the code. Because that would cost money.
In other words: can you run Skyrim? FO4 will run the same.

Really ? I thought I read they used a new engine for F4

No, it was announced at E3 even that is uses Creation. Bethesda is waaaaaaaay too cheap to use an engine only once. Or for less than a decade.

Is that why fans have to go back and patch their games?

Partly yes, partly because nobody at their studio knows how to code (seriously, the scripting engine of Skyrim is bit-by-bit the exact same as the one on Morrowind), and partly because they know that no matter how broken their stuff is, they have one of the most fanatic fan base which always solves their problems eventually. They built it when they chose the modular version of GameBryo somewhere around 1998-99, which opened up modding as much as the old Tech 1 or Infinity engines did, or more.

At least do some research first. Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout3, and Fallout NV ran on Gamebyro engine, Skyrim ran on a heavily modified Gamebyro engine, because building one from ground up is tedious. Fallout 4 runs on a newer Creation Engine, Todd even said that, but normies like you don't notice anything.

Graphics engine does not equal scripting engine. The scripting engine is the one that defines the game rules, and the scripting language in Morrowind was the same one as in Skyrim. Heck, I think there are some Morrowind mods on the Skyrim Nexus, even, it is so unchanged. (Try that with Infinity Engine or Aurora engine, which received actual improvements at each new game.)
Not to mention it has the exact same bugs which were fixed by the exact same community script extenders.
The graphics engine, GameBryo, was the same between Morrowind and Fallout 3 (or New Vegas, if we count Obsidian's game too). It received a few new shaders and a Havok engine slapped on it, but just looking at the specs and the fact that the modern Fallouts wanted to use only a single core with Pentium 2 instructions shows a thing or two…

If you mean some kind of romance, I would say we shouldn't expect any and the fact that you come out from the vault 111 as the only survivor is kinda a hint that your wife and kid are dead for whatever reason and so this might be used as a cheap excuse to avoid any kind of romance and force the player to accept that the main hero is devastated and unable to start any new relationship. If this is the case however, I say it's bullshit because technically by the time the player walks out from the vault, 200 years have passed and while the main hero is clearly unaware of that (judging by the chat with the robot in the gameplay video that was released), player will probably get annoyed and disappointed by this and will have to simply accept that even though 200 years have passed, it's still too fresh for the main hero...

Plenty of ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). You can be happy for able to "( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" with furious cannibals, raiders, molerats, supermutants and even with deathclaws! Ghouls are still on table so it's 50-50. Robots aren't on the list since those were already handled earlier.

First time when we all will have "( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" will be when we see the title screen. Huge amounts of "( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)". I promise this.

It had a great map; one of the best Bethesda ever made. The gameplay was a bit strange, and the RPG mechanics were naturally gutted to nothingness, but it was still fun to play. The plot was non-existent though. And what little was there was full off self-contradictions and plot holes. :)

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Yes, I think they will have ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Bethesda would probably have some characters that allows you to ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) with them
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Bethesda won't show the ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) clearly of course.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Modders would make more ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) with clearer view and better ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) experience.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Modders would also add more immersive ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) sounds and graphics.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Bethesda won't do anything because ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) mods are popular and nearly everybody use them.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Hopefully Bethesda have more ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) plots and sub-plots, as Vegas should be full of ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) but there are no ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), and much more.

Actually, I think putting ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) into a game is no big deal nowadays. It's only a question of what age rating is aimed for. However, having same ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) in a game is what still freaks some ppl out.
