It was added to the bundle list cause it had "exploitable pricing"... usually means that there was a way to get it at a price of more then 95% off...

Yup, same with Serious Sam: Complete pack, Take Down: Red Sabre, Payday etc.

That's not an exploit - it's all planned. In Germany the game is on 93% off for 0,99€ which would be about $1.36.

Its exploitable. In other countries it can be had for less than 70 cents US.

Count in the 4pack and Russian price and you'll see how it's exploitable

currently russian price for orion is $3 (-67%) for a single copy and $10 (-57%) for 4-pack.

Make better sense now?

You have gotten $31,99 CV for your 7 copies of Orion: Dino Horde. If you paid much more than $5 for those 7 copies you should find yourself a new dealer. 30+ CV for 5 dollars spent isn't too bad I'd say.

steam reduces price and its "exploitable" LOL ... idgaf but the bundle list needs to go away

Yes, it is exploitable. If you don't want to worry about your's CV buy games which are 85% off and don't give you extra copies, when you activate one (this apply to Take Down)

It is an exploit by the site rules, just because you copy paste the same answer multiple times doesn't make it correct

Just buy CoD games if you don't want to worry about contribution value. They never drop in price.

They should have done something to let me know then...i didnt know about this issue otherwise i would have gotten something else, instead of throwing my money to the trash!!!!!!!!!! This is totaly unfair, and very ironic because you give stuff away for free... really GOOD JOB!

The forum where you are complaining had a topic stating this would happen. Not our problem if you didn't check first.

And you chose to spend the money trying to exploit the system. Don't blame anyone but yourself.

Well you are new, so you can't know that bundle list works retroactive. This is done to prevent people from buying lots of copies to gather lots of CV.

If you would read forum you would notice that topic like this is really common here. And this maybe would stop you from GA 7 copies of this game.

And "This is totaly unfair, and very ironic because you give stuff away for free..." if you would think like that you wouldn't carry for your CV. CV system is best solution at the moment and noone will change it ;)

Nope, it only backdates to the first day of the sale when you could get them cheap.

The addition to bundle list is retroactive to when the exploitable deal first started.

I missed it. When did the exploit happen? How long was it? :o

93% off in the US, so over 95% off in the cheaper regions

So it's not a glitch?

Nope, not a glitch. The game was reduced to $1 a copy (or $3 for a 4 pack) and is a free weekend game.

Trying to exploit the system? are you kidding me??? i just seen this as a good deal exactly in the way you wait for good deals to buy games for yourself on steam ( summer/winter sale....) ,i never exploited anything in my fucking life. And if this counts as exploit then they did bad job! letting me know...Its just about making more profit this way.. money money money... awsome.... good day

You gave away 7 copies of a 93% off game (and even cheaper in some regions, which got it the 95% off the American price that this site requires for the exploit list). A heavy discount like this is considered exploitable, and a flood of giveaways proves it was by many people.

A heavy discount over 95% and higher is considered exploitable (and all the people giving away such games show just how much it is) by site support. Check the rules before trying to 'correct' people.

Problem is that the 95% off statement is in some random forum post from about a year ago. Very difficult to find. It really should be added to the FAQ

I agree with you.
I think these things should be very clear on the rules site.

Yup, I haven't heard anything about over -95% games being automatically added to the exploitable list, so I bough a bunch of Dino Hordes and after the giveaway had ended, I notice that they are on the list. No warning, CV has just stayed pretty much exactly where it was.

there've been several bundles that come out to less than 95% off(single key ones so you can only give as one game for the most part) on that list, its just common sense that knowing the bundle list exists to prevent floods of easily exploited cv and seeing a sale better/worse than already bundled discounts(, and knowing the guy in charge of that list is human and has to both learn of its existence and update the list so there'll be a delay....the sale was on for a week it'd be simple enough to hang back and watch for a bit)

Perhaps you might not have exploited, but other people did. Unfortunately, one or two bad apples can ruin it for everyone.

Well first of all it wasnt a good deal i could get more CV but forget the CV, this hurts... I been blamed as exploiter and seen my CV taken away from me...how u excpect me to want to keep investing in such a site as a new user in the future...something is very rotten in this , can you really blame me?

For lack of information he has committed a fault.
The origin of this situation is the lack of official information.

"I been blamed as exploiter "

It was quite obviously your intention to exploit the cv system, so stop whining. You wanted to get as much cv as possible for as little money as possible. And that was the only reason why you gave away those games. Too bad your plan didn't work out. Next time do a little bit more research before you try to exploit the system.

Also, your post doesn't make any sense. If you are no exploiter then why do you even complain? You gave away multiple copies of this awesome game with a metascore of 36 because you felt everyone should have a chance to play it. And you didn't care about your cv at all. If that is true, where is the problem?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It should be mentioned on the FAQ that games that go on very special sales are likely to be added to this exploitable list, but no, it's not anywhere there, it's only mentioned in a couple of forum posts. Not everyone reads everything on the forums.

Permalink

Problem is, most people read the FAQ after they give away the games and get no CV. By then it's too late.

Do you really think it's necessary to write down everything?

Buying several copies of a game that's on sale with such a heavy discount really does smell of "oooh, free CV!" and people who think like this really don't deserve to be nursed.

I think if you give away games for the sole reason of exploiting the cv system then it's up to you to find out how to exploit it properly. They shouldn't post an exploiter's manual imo. If someone gives away tons of cool games and maybe one spare copy of Dino Horde he won't care if it ends up on the bundle list. Only exploiters care, because all the crap games (like Red Sabre, Phantom Ops or Dino Horde to name a few) they give away end up on the list.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You should not see giving away games here as an investment. Spending money to get in on higher-cv giveaways with slightly higher chance of winning a game doesn't pay out. You're much better off spending your money on the games you want for yourself than relying on winning them.

Try looking up giveaways with CV of $115 and see how many entries there still are. You will only be disappointed if you think higher CV = easy winning.

It was predictable. I lost some of my cv because i bought guilty gear isuka that was not in the list but it has been added because there was a bundle a few months before. So i bought a few copies of a game they forgot to add to the bundle list.
