I didn't vote because I have never even heard of The Longest Day. But you have piqued my interest.

The Longest Day is for us old people, youngins will favor SPR

Both great movies but The Longest Day wins because of that star-studded cast.
If you haven't seen it watch it.
If you have watch it again ;)

Not exactly a movie, but Band of brothers.

a bridge too far - love the cheesy view of the English in that movie - not a D-day movie but still makes me chuckle

I recommend Brest Fortress aka Fortress of War (2010) as an Eastern Front alternative

I like them both but The Longest Day is such a classic movie.

Like both, but voted The longest Day, watched that movie quite a while before SPR got on the screen.
If you like older ww2 movies, Sink the Bismarck could be interresting.
The movie From here to Eternity may be a bit too much drama/romantic for war movie fans even though it revolves around Pear Harbour
