I'd recommend using a different gallery app, my personal go-to choice is QuickPic although i'd recommend the older version, pre-CM takeover.

Sure i read this advice on net too, i rather want solve problem with no another app. Everything works well and day from day no. That why i want to know what happens and if here is any way how to solve it with no external app.
I have tried this app and i dont like it.
Problem not solved. Still "non active arrow" in tray and no pic in gallery. (quickpic)

If I understood correctly, when you download new pictures, it takes some time for your gallery app to locate and display them? If so, perhaps it is one of the following reasons.

  1. Your gallery app is not searching the device for new pictures often enough. It would help if you mention which gallery app you are using. If the app has an option to automatically search for pictures, enable that. It is also possible that some external app is stopping the gallery app from automatically searching for new pictures. Some battery saving apps can do that - like greenify - so if you have any of those, disable/remove those and test again.
  2. You are low on battery, so your phone is automatically limiting your gallery from searching often.
  3. You are downloading different sizes of pictures, which is why some take time to show up.

Yes correct.

  1. Its default app, no any settings about "searching interval" or smth like that. Everything works well before and now from "clear sky" no. New gallery doesnt help, still inactive tray notify and picture is not available in default gallery app and also no in external.
  2. Not important if low battery or no, 100% or 5% still same.
  3. Yes different sizes (just trying any random pictures) but i think its not prob if before it works well. On anohter device it works normal and no depend on size / resolution. Its any problem in this phone, but i need find where :D

u can see new pic if u click on noftiy in tray but u cant manipulate with it. Its opened in gallery but not seems like normal if u open any priciture. I can upload u screen what i mean if u want.

Sure, upload an image so I know what you mean.

What's your android version? Stock rom or custom?

If that's done, and it still doesn't work, restart your phone once and, using a file manager like Solid, go to the directory I mentioned above (the download folder) and click on an image, if it asks you to pick an app, pic your gallery app. Then again see if the problem is fixed or not.

Next step, open application manager and look for something like 'media scanner service'. If it's disabled, enable it. Also, 'clear data' for that app.

Next thing to try is, download this, open it, and click 'start media scanner'. Test if fixed.

If you're still stuck, proceed with this step, but since you have root I'll assume you know how to use adb and/or a terminal emulator on your phone, you may have to use that if you get stuck. First, turn on USB debugging. If you don't know how, google it, or ask me. After that, download this app. Open it, and click 're-enable media scanner'. If there's no option to re-enable it, first click 'disable media scanner' and then re-enable it. Test again if fixed.

Last option, if you really need to use only the default gallery app, is to download this app. It will place an icon on your desktop, just tap it to automatically make newer pictures appear in gallery.

And that's all I can suggest. If nothing above works use your phone as it is, try a new gallery app (tho I doubt it would work either) or factory reset if you can't live with it.

Images are down.
Android 5,0 stock root.
Phone restarted already lot of times, if i reset it, pictures show up in gallery. But new agin no.

If i do this with file manager it do thing from first screen (down) its rlly sems like any "temp"

I cant run media scanner... crash. Media scan root also crash. (debug ON)

Its not important which gallery i use, still inactive download status in tray, not depend on gallery, image is not visiable.

Now screens:
First is freshy downloaded image, u can do anything with it, second screen is classic picture.. u can do everything normally. Both pictures on screens are opened in gallery, but it gives me different "look"

Idk if i can live with factory reset... i have very well customized settings of phone and apps. :/

Then perhaps your media scanner is corrupt. If I were you I'd flash a new stock rom. Flash just the /system, not userdata or anything else. And flash the correct version exactly or you're gonna get a bootloop. But that's somewhat advanced, if you know how, you can try it but if not, better not do it.

Also, you didn't mention - did you try this one?

Last option, if you really need to use only the default gallery app, is to download this app. It will place an icon on your desktop, just tap it to automatically make newer pictures appear in gallery.

Most likely it will crash as well but it can't hurt to try.

From your attached images, it seems that in the first one, the image is open in just a 'display view'. That's how it should be when you open pics from the download location. Try these 2 buttons, see what they do.

Yes its similar to factory reset or new rom etc.. i can also upgrade to 6.. but i loss root and idk if 6 is ez to root like 5 :D

Last app does nothing. Showed me picture but takes like 5 minutes to refresh. But also new images agin no. Still inactive arrow. (why this retarder arrow is grey but image downloaded?)

Buttons do nothing... first do "small window" and second smth useless too.

Flashing only the /system from a rom will not reset your phone to factory setting, remove your customizations and remove user apps. It will only fix currupted system apps. That's why you don't get a factory reset after every OTA.

Anyhow, that's all I could think of. Sorry you still have a problem, try making a thread on xda, they'll be much better equipped to help you. Good luck.

Seems like someone has the exact same phone as me with the exact same android version that are both rooted O_o

Maybe try looking in the downloads app and see if chrome downloads them there, or as other people mentioned, try some other gallery apps too.

I have root for month and works before some time with root, i think its not problem about root.

Other gallery not work, still "inactive" download notify. This is prob i think but idk how to solve. Picture is located in same folder as others, but new pictures need some time to show-up in gallery. But almost 30 minutes is annoying.

Honestly, I'd head over to xda & search. I would assume the issue has little or nothing to do with the model so drop that from any search. Venheim has some great thoughts above so consider those. Like the low battery issue Venheim touched on, low available memory will do the same. If you have anything less than 10% memory available start purging the unwanted or not needed items on your device.
