In my honest opinion, you can be a pirate for the right or for the wrong reasons. Nowadays you can only occasionally afford a trip on a cruise ship. It's not a necessity, but I think curiosity is found deep within every human being. If you want to satisfy your hunger for adventure - I'm not judging you. Sometimes people are born into this and they have to support their family by tagging along or you simply don't know what else to do. If your way of life is not allowing a change anytime soon and it has no harmful impact on everybody else's life - I won't judge you. Bad reasons could be summed up as 'just for the sake of wrecking other ships' or even more importantly, kidnapping people and demanding ransoms. Big no-no.

One personal pet-peeve I have for A-LOT of TV shows I have is pearly white teeth.
Walking Dead for example, nothing says I'm in the zombie apocalypse like perfect/whitened teeth.
"I may turn into a zombie, but damn am I gonna have some nice chompers." - Majority of the survivors.
Maggie is still hot though, so, whatever. I can deal.

Pirates wore eye patches to keep one eye dilated, so when they went into the hull they could flip the eye patch up and see in the dark.
Thanks for teaching me this

Better then ninjas any day. And i have the facts to put this debate to a conclusion for good:
Ninjas had extensive training, healthy lives and obeyed a master- tottaly submissive.
Pirates? They were more awesome, more feared, learned things the hard way, didn't attack anyone 'sleeping'(for lack of chance but whatever, they had balls) and weren't submissive to authority, all the while dealing with scorbut and other sick stuff.
More badasses missing an eye and a leg. You can't beat that.

Due to popular demand, I am making a thread about actual pirates who travel the seven seas. Now you guys have a place to discuss them. I'll start with a fun fact.
Pirates wore eye patches to keep one eye dilated, so when they went into the hull they could flip the eye patch up and see in the dark.
