I think he meant there could be a difference between EAstore.com (or whatever it is/could be called) and Origin. EA could still sell the games, but without using Origins for them, and hence from another place than Origin Store.

Nothing odd about it. EA is Valve's publisher in the retail market. While EA stopped publishing through Steam, Valve didn't care enough to return the favor.
