Been wanting to buy the game for a long time but I keep waiting for an edition that includes ALL the DLC's.

Well it looks like it's absolutely impossible for these people to do that. There's plenty of topics on steam forums talking about this, but they're 2-4 years old and they didn't really reach any conclusion.

I hate buying games that are missing stuff from a game that I'll potentially love...but at this point, I don't even know if I should just go with the Standard Edition and fuck all their DLC system.

Base game + Freedom Cry is all you really need.

That actually sounds like a good idea. Is freedom cry worth it?

Imo yes. It's the only truly relevant story DLC for this game, it's like a prequel/spin off of the main game. Quite interesting to me. It takes place in a new setting and it has a good 4-7 hours of gameplay

I heard its really good and I hope you're right, but it'll be hard for me for it to outbeat AC2 / Brotherhood.

I've been having this exact same quandary. Think I'll just go for the base game and then if I'm super into it grab Freedom Cry.

I don't think I'll be having an answer to that before the summer sales ends, and there's no chance I'm paying more than 2.5€ for that DLC XD

Yeah, but it'll be on sale again.

The DLC for this game is really good. Freedom Cry is so good it became a standalone game. And the Aveline missions are short but very fun and Aveline is a great character. You also get extra items for your ship and I believe some new locations. I'm a diehard AssCreed fan so I'm biased but you want to get as much out of this game as possible it is so good. Get the gold edition (which has all the content, so deluxe+DLC) it's pretty cheap right now on Steam (and other retailers) so you won't regret it!

Haha damn you're making me doubt now!!! :D

EDIT: Btw, can you tell me what does the Gold Edition includes exactly? I've read somewhere it doesn't include some of the DLCs.

Sorry!! I just really love Assassin's Creed, and Black Flag isn't even my favorite. You could always get the season pass later but it's more expensive. If you like the series you'll love Black Flag I promise :) (damn I should be a sales person for Ubisoft :P)

Edit: Yeah it doesn't have the crappy time saver packs. I don't have them but from the descriptions on Uplay they just seem like ways to make the game easier, by handing stuff to you that you can get in-game eventually anyway. For example the collectibles pack will automatically reveal every collectible on the map, even though you can buy maps throughout the game like every other AC game

The gold edition is on sale on HB right now, the description there says whats included (it doesn't mention Freedom Cry by name, but that's the 'Adewale' campaign):

The base game is great, Freedom Cry is mediocre, and the rest of the DLC looks like junk. Just get the base game.

Hijacking your post not to make a new one. Also, gonna give you my opinion - get the base game. The DLCs I haven0t played, but the base game is just long enough that by the time you're done, if you're done, you'll be bored of it. Not saying it's a bad game. It's a very good game and well worth the price that it has now, but the story is so long and it just carries on and on, and I doubt the DLCs are much better.

Does anyone have an idea why Assassins Creed 3 is always 50% off and therefore, 10€, while Black Flag is always 75% off and 5€ ? This has been bothering me for a while. I now regret not buying AC3 when it was 5€ some 3 YEARS AGO!

Actually I also want to buy AC3 despite it's reviews, and it's basically presenting the same dilemas as AC4, so if anyone can give us a tip on that it would be highly appreciated.

I played through AC3 but would like to get it on Steam, and play through it again. cough had it pirated cough. Don't know about the bad reviews, it was a fine AC game, imo.

I don't mean to stalk your post sorry!! But AC3 is the best in the series if you care about the story. If you don't then you'll probably not enjoy the game as much but it'll still be fun. But If you do care about story, you should really play all the games in order first. The gameplay is great too and similar to Black Flag and Rogue's. Don't be scared by the reviews because frankly they're bullsh*t
