Yes and no, generally you can order the replacement using the notebook model, but to be 100% sure you need to provide the part number and or serial/model number of the display to the seller so he can send you the correct part, this data is normally printed on a sticker on the back of the lcd display panel.

Hello steamgifts community!
My girlfriend has a VAIO E Series and she broke the screen and it needs to be replaced.
Since the warranty is void and taking it to a computer shop may turn out to be too expensive i was thinking of resolving the issue myself. But i need a bit of help to get started...
Replacing the screen seems easy (based on a youtube video) but i'm a bit confused about ordering the display. Do I need to dismantle the laptop first to check the reference on the back or are the screens all the same to the specific model?
