I noticed a couple of additions to my Steam account recently and am not completely sure why they happened. I thought maybe someone here could explain them, or confirm my suspicions about them.

1) I now have a tradable copy of BIT.TRIP BEAT in my inventory. I'm guessing it's because I bought the Humble Bundle for Android 3, which includes this game, and I already owned it. However, I didn't think I was supposed to get a second copy -- I didn't for Uplink (the other game in the bundle I already owned). But if it's not a spare from the bundle for some reason, where did it come from?

2) I saw news about a Dota 2 spectator/viewer thing, and when to check it out. It lead to the store page for Dota 2 where it said I already own the game. However, I don't see it in my game list and don't remember getting it anywhere else. I did start the beta request survey, but didn't finish it because it asked for Dota experience and I don't have any. I thought this might be a free weekend game, but haven't seen any announcements like that. So does anyone know why Steam says I own Dota 2 when I don't think I should, and will it be going away soon like I think it will?

Thanks for your help.

1 .All games from the potato bundle stacked so that is why you get an extra from indie bundles

List of games you can get extra
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potato_Sack
1 from the bundle and 1 extra from indie keys

DOTA 2 is going to F2P and they probably already sent you an invite via email or something

  1. Oh, so I had the right idea, but the wrong bundle. When I bought the Potato Sack Reunion bundle, it gave me extras of games I owned at the time, so I knew extras were possible. But I didn't realize it would also give extra copies if I bought games from it in indie bundles after that. That's a nice surprise. Thanks for the clarification.

  2. I think I did hear that Dota 2 would be free-to-play, but I don't remember getting an invitation to it from anywhere. If it did come by e-mail, it must have gone to spam and I guess I deleted it without realizing what it was. It's not too big of a deal, but I was curious about it. Thanks.

You don't have access to DOTA 2 yet. Everyone got access to spectator only version this weekend. Looks like you got it but when you launch all you can do is watch others play. Gaben is trolling.

That would make a lot more sense, thanks. I guess I expected the spectator version to be a separate game/install, not the Dota 2 game in some limited version. Maybe it's easier for them just to limit the main game though than to create some separate viewing-only version.
