I am at my cellphone right so please check my profile for the background it uses as I think this is the best one. I've been browsing through a lot of backgrounds that are mostly black in the hope of finding something either entirely black or minimalistic and simple. This one was the best I was able to find and actually bought it on the market. I like it for being subtle and yet adding a certain feel to my profile that fits my personality rather than using some kawaii or overly nerdy background, no offense to anyone.

Oh my god, yes! If only Steam had Ghost Trick for sale. Not only is it a great game, but it has such a charming little Pomeranian in it. I'd love to have a profile background like this. Missile is the best lil ball of happy, hyper fluff. <3

Well, depends on your taste as always. But I'd recommend a few "space" backgrounds, they go with pretty much anything. (4 first)
Then I'd offer to check out some nice Ys backgrounds. (that I F*CKING WANT DAMN IT)
