well, what If I already have BF1 on Origin, but I'll take the EA play on steam, add BF1, claim DLC and then lose the subscription? will I keep the DLC while playing through Origin only? will I just lose the DLC? or will the Matrix bug out and the whole universe will collapse on itself thanks to the simulation failing?

When you first launch any modern EA game from the Steam store, you will need to enter the username and password from the EA/Origin account(the Steam account will be linked to the Origin account).
after that, all DLC and games will automatically appear in the Origin library, even without launching Steam versions.
The DLC will not disappear anywhere and you will be able to play through Origin in this DLC.
